1st H2k (Sharpe, Kenjinn, zaK, robbs, arch1e)

I like this team, all nice chaps especially robbs, I am in particularly looking forward to going to starbucks and sharing a cup of tea with him at this LAN, because that’s what nice guys like robbs do, they drink tea and have civilised conversations about interesting things; like politics and the economy. H2K have all the makings of a good line up, a nice mix of skill and team play with the spine of the team going all the way back to the old sexytime line up, added to that they have the tactical (keen) prowess that zaK brings with him and the skill, frags and clutching of archie. I don’t think anyone in this group should prove a problem for them on LAN and I think they will wrap up 1st place in the group without much trouble.

Key Player: zaK, he usually out thinks the opposition, expect him to step up on LAN and hit more frags as well, often picking up the crucial first pick of the round.

2nd immolate (mstains, kyle, zeerilla, crono, Matz)

These guys are noisy, brash, loud and proud and will definitely get in the oppositions face this LAN. The team has plenty about it with all the players capable of putting up frags I think they will claim second place in the group and only struggle against H2K. The chemistry of the team has to be right and the only danger I think is if they all start frag hunting and their team work breaks down. If they stick to tactics and play as a team then they could surprise a few later on in the competition.

Key Player: Kyle, the best player in this team for me, if he steps his game up to the next level at this LAN he could drop some big numbers and help immolate progress through the brackets, I expect him to be the focal point of the immolate line up.

3rd sexytime (styles, sorted, Psy^, mbk, Arome)

If H2K can lay claim to being the new and improved sexytime, then these are the guys that got left behind, with no less than four members of the old sexytime squad in their ranks its somewhat fitting that they find themselves in the same group as their old friends H2K. Having a reasonable SGL season so far in the championship they might struggle against the likes of H2K and immolate but I expect them to have enough against the other teams to take 3rd in this group. The line up contains plenty of experience and this should be enough to see them through.

Key Player: sorted, a very solid player, capable of putting up big numbers and when on form taking down teams on his own especially at LAN, the most important thing for him is to remain focussed and avoid the urge to go emo if things start going against him, also keep an eye out for his world renowned crouch spray.

4th ctx (refused, ptm, rampage, Geonix, gale)

The general perception of this team from what I have heard is they are considered to be somewhat of an online entity. So now is the perfect chance to show all those doubters what they are all about. I like the look of the team on paper with some skilful gamers in the mix, to back that up they also have a decent record so far in this SGL season so I expect them to take 4th place in this group and secure a place in Sundays brackets. If they get off to a good start in the group it would come as no shock to see them beat sexytime and perhaps push immolate close, but if things don’t go as planned then I’m sure they will be happy make it through the group.

Key Player: ptm, I always thought he was the best player in the old faction team so it came as somewhat of a surprise when he left, bounced around a few teams and ended up here. Easily capable of playing in the SGL invite I think he should prove a reliable source of frags for his team.

5th team-uniQue (cache, wusKy, TiDDEH, kr0n, spen)

Unique, alone: radically distinctive and without equal. Yeah I’m not really sure about that, but they do have some nice features. I’ll be upfront about it, I think this group is pretty well set and it would surprise me to see either one of my predicted bottom two teams creep through to the brackets, but again we must consider the ‘LAN Factor’. It’s hard to say exactly how it will effect this team, which is probably why I’ve placed them in the same position as I would online.

Key Player: wusKy, seen him play a few times and he’s usually topping the scoreboard. One of the players on this team needs to have a big LAN for this team to upset the seedings and advance to the brackets, so I’m going with wusKy to shine.

6th #teamintake (jSAV, Lankz, Lan1e, Trixx, Wellsi)

I’m going to level with you; I really don’t know who this team are. This should not however be taken as a huge slight against them, as I am far from an all knowing omnipotent presence in the uk cs scene, but still its not exactly a glowing endorsement either. There is usually a team that either fades without a trace or simply doesn’t show up at all when it comes to UK LANS and sadly for these boys I fear it may be them. So I throw down this challenge, turn up and win a couple of games and the beers are on me.

Key Player: jSAV, I remember playing against this guy before, I can’t really say I was blown away by his abilities, but I do remember the name so at least that’s something! jSAV you’re the man to lead this team to victory and earn you and your mates beers from Bacon, I wish you the best of luck kind sir!

So that concludes the group write ups, I hope you found them both entertaining and informative. I will produce an extra preview of the brackets and the teams I think will be fighting it out for the prizes and places on the podium. It promises to be a fantastic LAN event!
