they got some pretty good results tbh.. apart from against emulate, but thats probs cus they were demoralised from the attax game and knew they were out ;( unlucky guys x

They played with a merc and still almost beat them so theres a nice bit of promise there.
mhhhm, and tbh it's not exactly easy to break into these sort of teams - who have been playing at this level for years, and have spent way much more time playing than the dig guys because they get much more support, people like SK, MYM etc bootcamp for weeks before big events, most UK teams cant do that because people have jobs etc.
And at the end of the day, none of you would do any better so why give anything but positive comments.

You've got to play with some balls against big teams like this or they'll run amock on you.
Unlucky against alternate dawgs and a good showing versus virtus; good effort considering the circumstances.

the yearly salary is low(if they get one). im sure 95% of money that dig use is from sponsorship, and even if they dont make money outta tournys the sponsors dont really care... its such little money

they don't get a salary, and even if they won money at the tournaments, the sponsors dont get the money, the sponsors get coverage and exposure in return for sending them to the event, which btw... they didnt actually send them to this event seeing as they won the qualifier, = ESWC paid for flights and accomodation : )

Kurt1s is 2 levels ahead of any other player in dig (apart from Suffz but he isn't there)

Any wonder the uk scene is the way it is, Last year it was cut aleski from the dig lineup which they did, guess what it failed, now he's easily the best caller team leader in the uk.
Cutting a player after one event is not the way to do things, so what if he had a bad event (didn't actually see the games btw) go home work on the mistakes, and come back better prepared.
Btw i think you had a great tournie looking at the results. 11 rounds off a team that beat mym and from what i hear could of been closer, and alternate are DEFO a top 10 team and cause of 1 eco things could have been so much diff, going into a final game against emulate knowing it's a decider instead of already knowing you're out i reckon the score would have been ALOT better.

I can never understand people who can't just give credit where credit's due. They're clearly a strong team with good potential and are capable of beating some of the big international teams in my opinion.
I'd agree with keeping song on board as a 6th or something. 2 different mercs for 2 separate events in the last few months would suggest a need for one.
Btw top 16 at the hardest international event of the year is not a bad result and with 2 VERY good results v alternate virtus gunna be an awsome team with suffz and a few more events behind them.
Biggest problem for Dig now is time, can't see there being many big events left in 1.6 after 2008.

ul for dig, so many close rounds Vs attax, could of gone either way. They all played well, team game afterall, and Song was a sickhead. IG will be back late Summer with regular tournaments so hopefully we'll see a spring of new teams pop up.
I think the only worthwhile events for UK teams are WCG and ESWC. They're the only ones that pay flights/accomodation. Chuck a GameGune in there (if Dignitas pay) and that's 3 events they will attend before the end of 2009. I don't think 3 big events is enough for them to make the step up from UK beaters to world beaters. The worlds top 10 CS teams now are practising hard because they are keen to get everything out of CS that they can before it dies. There's also the possibility that either of the two events I mentioned will drop 1.6, although I hope not.
Obviously would love to be proved wrong etc etc, been too long without a UK team mixing it up with the best teams in the world, I just think it's too late now for any impact on the world scene.

Kode 5 are still going strong, wcg, eswc, ig lans, gamegune, dreamhack summer and winter, if dig give them some backing to help them push on to the next level i think they could do really well, they need to bootcamp for a week before lan like most of the top teams have been doing for the last couple of years
