ENC 2006 Coming Soon

Posted by engESL|Mike on the 2nd of March 2006 at 9:01 PM.

The European Nations Championship is going into its third year in 2006, once again pitting Europe's nations one against the other. Look out for extensive flag wielding and national anthem singing from early April on.

The 2006 European Nations Championship will be open to all national teams from geographical Europe. Details about the application period and the application process will be released in the coming days. The teams that make it into the championship will be competing in three yet unannounced games that will also be announced in the coming days.

Looking back a little at the past two European Nations Championships, the ENC medal tables have been dominated by the esports superpowers Germany and Sweden. Both won three European Championships - Sweden dominated the 2004 ENC winning both gold medals, but was unable to repeat the 2004 success in 2005. The ENC 2005 was the 'German ENC', with the German national team winning 3 of the four competitions. The fourth gold medal from the Warcraft 3 competition went to Sweden.

This years European Nations Championship finals will be held offline at Europe's biggest computer and video games fair, the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany.
