Today I woke up with a comp full of viruses, trojans and spyware. So, I have numerous devices running whilst I write this. What I am writing about is of similarity to this, whilst I am trying to detect infected files, Busted is a program used to detect Cheats!
Yep, its the new and revolutionary device that is used to prevent cheaters. Heres how it works:
Could you please explain us a bit about Busted, the way it works and its wide ways of catching cheaters?
Well, instead of making an anti-cheating software to catch specific cheats, I chose to make Busted gather as much information as it can about whether or not the player might use any cheats. For example, a list of DLLs loaded into Counter-Strike's memory space, as I found that's the way most (if not all) cheats work – by injecting a malicious DLL Into Counter-Strike, hence allowing the DLL to do basically anything the author wants it to. This feature has been proven very useful and caught a great deal of cheaters.
At the moment, it is only used within the Israel Gaming scene. As much as I'd like to see it used on a larger scale, the coder is about to start Military service, and therefore wont be able to update/fix flaws for a while, so I guess Busted wont be seen for a little while yet.
You've seen a glimpse of the interview with the coder 'spx' up there, check the rest out HERE.
