Mouse problems with VISTA

Posted by 000nixoh on the 28th of March 2007 at 8:55 PM

Just today my brand new PC arrived with windows VISTA... i know some say its a bad choise but i thought how bad could it be. My problem is when i move the mouse too fast it goes into a spaz and just stops and wiggles on the spot, asif it was an old crap mouse, i have an intelli explorer 3 and i have intalled the mouse drives. Ive installed the XP mouse fix (altho its vista) just incase and ive got the accel command in my CS start up... i dont appear to have any accel so its nothing to do with accel its just the spazzes when moving the mouse fast. Its either something i have forgot to do to make the mouse better or im gunna have to format and put XP back on which i really dont want to do.

Any ideas are helpful, thanks.

I done some research on it and it seems vista caps the mouse hz at 125... i downloaded a mouse rate checker and its true it is capped at 125. The problem can be "solved" by going into windows > system32 > drivers then going to a file called usbport.sys < this file needs to be updated with others you can find on the internet which change the hz cap to 500 or 1000. It changed the speed i need to move my mouse for it to spaz out alot higher... unrealist movements for CS so i can handle it all seems ok now. Altho i might still just but XP on... making a partion and having both seems ok but also sounds like pure hassel Tongue

eitherway with vista you dont need a mousefix. all the cpl mouse fix did was untick the 'enhance pointer precision' box in the pointer options and keep it unticked. vista does not have this problem and will stay unchecked once it has been unchecked.

Vista is mint, however games don't run too well at all.

IMO its to boost Xbox sales.

i got same mouse and used to sometimes get this problem, if you uninstall drivers and just use XP's default for the mouse it worked for me fine
