zer0 Anti Cheat Gaming Community

Posted by ukn64 on the 27th of March 2007 at 4:23 PM

Hello all.

We at zer0 are building an Anti Cheat community for low to mid skilled teams. We are looking for teams to sign up to the community. Please take the time to read the following, taken from our website http://www.zer0acg.co.uk

We are looking to work alongside some of the UK's largest esports organisations to build a secure and trusted cheat-free environment.

The zer0 Anti-Cheat Gaming Community was formed in March 2007. Our aim is to build and maintain a cheat /exploit free competitive gaming community for low to mid skilled teams.

One of the most frustrating things that most teams experience is playing a war against a team that is cheating or using exploits. All it takes is for one individual to cheat and the balance of the game will be thrown into the team with those individuals. There's very little that can be done to prove anything whilst you're in-game. Another big issue is when you're advertising for a low / mid skilled game and a high skill team will take up the challenge. As we all know, it's not a fun experience.

At the zer0 Anti-Cheat Gaming Community all of the above scenarios are eliminated. You will have peace of mind that any team that you play who are members of the community will have been verified. They will also have accepted an Anti-Cheat agreement. We have setup the IRC channel #zer0.pcw on Quakenet that all members can use to find wars.

We offer an investigative service; so if you think someone is a hacker send us the player's details and a demo / hltv and we will make every effort to assess the case. If it's proven that the player is using a cheat / exploit we'll report them to STEAMBANS and work to get their account banned and their membership to the zer0 Anti Cheat Gaming Community revoked.

We run a very stringent acceptance procedure ...

If you have a player in your team who has had an account banned in the past you will not be accepted.

We will investigate every player that has a STEAM account that is under 6 months old.

If you state that your team is low skilled in your application and you turn out to be high skilled you will be removed.

If one of your players has been proved to have cheated you will be asked to remove them from your team. Failure to do so will result in the team being kicked from the community.

A zero tolerance policy will always be executed. The best way to preserve your membership will be to stay clean. We WILL name and shame anyone caught using any form of cheat.

All registered members will gain access to the invite only IRC PCW finder channel #zer0.pcw. If you wish to speak with an Admin and show your support idle in #zer0.anticheat on Quakenet.

To join go to the Contact Us page and fill out the Membership Application form!

As 'helpful' as this sounds. I actually think that there's about 1% cheaters these days, and most of them smoke spriters. endeavor|Jason tried the other day to cheat, he tried his hardest because he went on every cheat site there was and none worked =) It's REALLY quite hard to cheat now without getting VAC banned, and VAC normally closes CS if any are found. I actually think this is the clean generation of CS now, honest to god.

Believe me there's a LOAD of cheating going on out there, there's also a real hefty amount of VAC undetectable programs freely available.

why are you only targeting low - mid skilled teams? why not just target all teams? It can also be a problem with judging what skill a team is, what if they've just started and then become a lot better after a few weeks of practice? just going to be remoeved?

cpr : One of the problems we're trying to address is that of high skill teams taking low-mid skill PCW's. I'm not ruling out entirely the possibility of expanding into higher skilled teams, but for right here and right now we're going to concentrate our efforts into building a platform of verified and registered teams in the low-mid skill bracket.

There already is a Anti-Cheat gaming community - its called SGL.

Not really sure how you are going to stop cheating without any sort of client or server plugin and your service seems exactly the same as steambans but good luck anyway.

f0liage whenever another league/AC comes along your always the first to put it down because theSGL already exists and it gets on my wick, if you haven't got anything useful to contribute then dont post at all.

We are going to stop cheating by removing all those from accessing our community. That's the whole point of this. Providing a place for teams that know that everyone else in the community have been verified and are constantly under evaluation from the zer0 admin staff. The PCW channel is invite only and will be kept administered. You cheat you won't have access to the channel / website facilities.

We're not trying to re-invent the wheel here, just trying to do a bit of good for the community as a whole.
