Also going to Bestival (beastie boys, chemical bros), went to download last year but this years lineup is shiiiiite.

Im going to Rockness, O2 wireless, Glasto and Global Gathering this year should be a good one.

If you are going to leeds/reading, make sure you see Mr Rascal, we went to see him to take the piss at all the chavs bouncin, he was the best artist there and it was class

I thought the line-up was amazing.
Shit bands like razorlight shouldn't be headlining over NIN who are a lot better.
Chili's should be good and Lostprophets are amazing.
Saturday is a bit disappointing though apart from Enter Shikari.
Who cares about the lineup its all about the atmosphere and campsite. Reading ftw.
Btw this will be my 1st music festival so, any pointers verterans? <3

Ct-R just pack lightly... dont act like 10men and think weed is the only thing, take cans and just drink 24/7 because u cant take cans into areanas but u can hide them everywhere because most of the ppl checking dont really care. Ive balanced a can on my head with a hat over it and they just tap ur pockets nothing else... in ur socks is also good. Worst thing that can happen is they find them and u down it b4 u go in.
Also take a cheap snow sled with a pull lead so u can put all ur cans on... the walk to the campsite can be a bitch, specially if u get landed with some of the girls or fags luggage.
Im off to Download then heading to Europe for Metal Camp and Wacken.
I went Leeds 3 years in a row, 2002/2003/2004. The lineup the last 3 years though have been a bit pants.

Some of my mates are going, but alot of us cant be bothered as the bands are utter gash.

Most the lineup still hasn't announced though, theres usually 10 bands a day on main and theyve only announced 6 per day. And on radio 1/nme stage they've still got at least 8 or so bands a day to announced plus carling stage and lock up.
Did anyone see gogol bordello last year, they were fucking hilarious.

if ur black then ul, as its czech. my dad was the only black dude last year and 05 they brought a tank lol. But they signed an agreement with the military now so just expect 9 millies.
dont take too much beer unless you have some sort of trolley to cart it all on. it can be a mission from the car park/drop off point to the camping sites.
babywipes as ganjaman said, they help especially if the weather is warm.
its usually worth buying your own cold beer from the carling stands. download festival had no cold beer facilities last year so i was stuck drinking 38 degree fosters.
also, take a camping chair - you'll be gutted if youre sat on the floor all week

deathfest looks sick this year.
Buy massive bottles of squash / water prior to the event (4 or 5 lites), drink them in your own time beforehand, but take the empty bottles with ya, 2 or 3 of them filled up at a time saves a lot of walking back and fro the water points.
Camping chair as chr1s said is essential, either buy in services or on site,they'llbe shit quality, but you'll only need it for this one event and they'll be about a fiver.
Apparently you can swap any crate of beer for cold carling, some of my mates bought a slab of cheap tesco lager and traded it in for carling, might be worth a shot doing that.
Sunscreen essential.
Last year for download i took a camping stove and a lil pan, then spent a tenner on those all day breakfasts in a tin and pot noodle type things, lasted me the entire weekend, saved me about 40 quid as i didn'tbuy food from stalls.
What i used to smuggle drugs into Download, was to have a tin of pringles, eat about 10, then empty out the rest of them, put the weed/whatever in the bottle, and put the pringles back on top in a way that they are still stacked, pop the lid back on and you're sorted.

actually rage said it would be nice to do leeds festival again as it was their last ever live gig before they split, also billy talent r rumored to headline the lockup stage, i imagine ratm if they were playing would of been announced as headliners, however theres still a chance they could headline one of the other tents, but i hopethere gonna be the mystery band at download festival.
and yes babywipes r the best thing u can take to a festival, especially to wash downstairs as theirs no showers around ;D
tbh if you cover beer with dark clothes and leave it in the bottom corner of your tent it stay cool. taking your own food is a godsend. i went DL 05 and came back with food poisning. took a camping stove and tins, a few bread rolls for hotdogs and to dip in my tins and i was away.
whoever said download didn't have cold beer where the fuck where you going.

this year im going innovation and hols in malia, hopefully doing reading money permitting but lineup ain't worth it atm. rage would top it.

Can't see Billy Talent on the concrete jungle stage, they'll probably be on the second stage.
Also, i'm hoping for actual good bands to play CJ.
Haven't heard any strong rumours for CJ, but based on current tours and past carling festivals, Capdown and Sonic Boom Six should be there, so should Captain Everything, maybe Howard's Alias.
Read somewhere that Adequate 7 are reforming for reading/leeds, but that's probably tosh.

why bring beer? nip to tescos on the bus when you're there grab a nice refreshing crate of tesco's own for like £0.001 then go trade it at the beer amnesty UMMMMMMM
yeah the beer amnesty is win, we just filled a shopping trolley up with crates of tescos own(there are 2 tescos nearby in reading) last year and juut wheeled it in. you save so much and you only have to make one trip and your sorted.
with all the talk, im starting to warm to the ide aof going again, pumpkins will eb good and NIN will be awesome as always. i might get a ticket when the 2nd batch comes out.

Fuck yeah rule. the heat at download last year was insane, ended up just sleeping outside on my camping chair to avoid the stuffiness of a tent.
Although it had it's benefits, had it not been so hot, and people weren't pissed off with the rip off of water in the arena, the riots might never have happened, easily the second highlight of last year, after prod.
Still have a bulb i took from one off the torn down streetlights, as well as two of the big signs they had on the fences.
