Hi fellow counter-strikers.

I just wanted to ask how the community is these days as I have been out of touch with the scene for 2-3 years (perhaps longer).

Also, how have things moved on in regards to 'playing' the game? Do people still use CRT monitors and intellimouse 3.0s? :rolleyes:

I am thinking of getting back into the game again but I don't think I have the right equipment anymore or the same game 'sense' probably due to playing dumbed down games like COD. ;-)

So if anyone could spare the time to offer an opinion/tips on this I would most grateful.

Oh and if not then:

GG!, KTHXDIE, CU@LAN, etc. Or has that now changed?

as for cs its started getting pretty active now with esl and sgl 11 starting soon.if u wana get bk in2 mixs/matches id make an account on cs.gather.uk an jus play a few gathers or dm for a week or two an ud b sorted....

Thanks for the replies guys.

I've just been rewatching some 1.6 demos to 'try' and get a feel for how the game works again.

The thing that frustrates me the most probably is the capped hz on a TFT screen and the input lag but I'm sure I'll adjust until either I can get a better TFT or a CRT. For other games I wasn't too bothered but for it's another story...

Not sure what the best gather chans are these days. I had a look at cs.gather.uk but I didn't really fancy signing up to the site and authing and going through all that trouble to play a game. So if anyone one knows of any other IRC gather chans, I'm all ears.

Also, someone told me recently there is a new type of bunnyhop back in the game. Something to do with ducking I believe? Can someone elaborate on that?
