think you have to pay monthly for FMlive, which is ridiculous. Just wait for FM09
I used to like the old CM games, but having played the last couple of fm games, and the last cm game, I've got to say I'm preferring fm. The tactical options just feel so limited in cm, not able to give such a degree of direction.
FM09 is looking fantastic.

First version of FM is always dogshit with some glitch that just pretty much ruins the game for any good player, so hopefully they don't fanny around when getting a patch sorted this year.

biggest glitch i remember was the rooney 1 where he was internationally banned for his whole career instead of 3 matches
try having 5 goals from corners disallowed per game
the biggest glitch involving rooney is his ability... he scores more than a goal a game, as a result scoring over 30 or even 40 in every prem season... THAT is ridiculous
Last year wasn't there one where players could reach their max potential in like 3 months of training? Then they fixed it with a patch that made it impossible for players to improve ...
I swear to God this years game had some kind of bug where players just didn't progress at any speed at all to their max ability... throughout the FM games players have generally progressed too fast but i'm sure something went wrong and just stopped player development in 2008s patches
I really do wish things like player development and such were better explained and more in depth, heres to hoping 2009 actually changes some stuff eh!
FM is made by the guys that brought you the old CM series. CM is terrible now but FM is so ultra realistic, slow and boring it is no fun to play.
CM 01/02 with latest patch is fun :]

cm doesn't even compare to fm, fm is like 20 years old or something stupid. was orginally cm before they changed to sega as they kept the database/build whilst Eidos kept the name. new fm features look sick, and the engine should be a lot better as its the same as fm live which is updated weekly to fix every bug. the corner bug when fm08 was released was ridiculous though, hopefully this should be less bugged as i couldn't handle more than an hour of fm0 till the patch came out to fix it.
FM live is amazing, im beta testing it out of pure luck and its pretty addictive, you play your game when suits you
few flaws with the ebay buying system, named price's of players...
also you have to rebid for players that you dont "keep no matter what" which is annoying as i lost my DL and DC while i was offline for 3 days
