MY GAMING TEAM

Posted by sxraz^ on the 5th of June 2008 at 1:48 PM in Gaming News    16 Comments

A new concept of gaming has arrived in the form of MyGamingTeam. The essence of MyGamingTeam project is an idea to create a team owned and managed by fans. The people, who will join the project via its website (mygamingteam.com) will be asked to invest 25€ per year as a membership fee. The starting point of a project is 6,000 members and once 6,000 people have registered, the functionaries of MGT will start looking for the team to buy or start a new one.

This is a possibility for everyone to become a part of the most democratic of esports franchises, where fans-members would vote over the internet on everything from the name of the team, to kit manufacturer and salaries of the players. With the control given to the fans, unorthodox financial transparency and independence MGT promises to be one of the most appreciable projects of its kind.

The man behind the project is lat Mikhail "casual" Kuleshov, one of the electronic sports enthusiasts and an experienced journalist. Mikhail is known in the CIS for his work on the popular competitive gaming website and for taking a Latvian National Team manager position for the last two years.

Statement Mikhail "casual" Kuleshov:

"My Gaming Team is a great opportunity for all of us to test ourselves on a manager position of a professional electronic sports club. I personally believe that gaming community deserves to have its own team. To have its own top team with the best possible players in it. It's not about money from now on, it's about having our own representatives in there."

Project administration:

lat Mikhail "casual" Kuleshov (Founder)
lat Janis "THUG" Are (Main developer)
lat Martin "MRTN" Mueller (Designer)
lat Vadim "Drive-" Mihalev (Public relations)

Good luck?

German team TBH.eSports have axed 3 of their members in what seems to be a summer clear out. They have, however, stuck with the two newest members of de Roman "roman" Ausserdorfer and de Christian "todi" Hackmann. The plan seems to be a massive rebuild with these two as the foundations to what could be a great side.

Mathis "LnK" Edel, manager of TBH.eSports:

We are not satisfied with our results this year. Last season we recruited roman and todi, and their playing styles were so different from the "old"-tbh-players' so it do not fit. That was one of the main reasons why we just placed fifth this season. Our problems now were to build a team that wanted to play together because each member had a different idea about which players he wanted to play with."

The team have arranged a bootcamp for the 14 & 15th of June in order to test some new players out. Should they be successful, TBH.eSports will announce the team soon.

TBH.eSports is currently:

de Roman "roman" Ausserdorfer
de Christian "todi" Hackmann.

ESWC: Dignitas interview

Posted by sxraz^ on the 5th of June 2008 at 7:02 PM in Gaming News    21 Comments

This weekend uk Dignitas are heading to the Omega Sektor in Birmingham to attend the ESWC 2008 UK Qualifier. In case of a victory their flights and hotel for the ESWC 2008 Grand Finals in San Jose, USA, will be paid for by the organiser. Their organisation has set up a catch up interview prior to leaving for the event.

Last year in Paris our former Counter-Strike team surprised everyone with wins against teams like emuLate or TR.Victory and even a draw against NiP which noone had expected before. Provided you win ESWC UK and have a bootcamp or two prior to the Finals, realistically how much damage do you think you can do?

Kurt1s: With the teams that we are able to practice against at the moment, and with the recent lan experience vs top CS teams, I personally think we can do a lot of damage to teams, we have learnt a lot from playing and watching them.

101: Depends how it goes on the day but we know we can compete with the best teams, we just need to be playing and communicating well and anything’s possible.

Suffz: At the moment we're looking really strong, playing against top teams in pcw's and learning from it. With all this I'm pretty sure we could upset the bigger teams.

Sp|ke: If we had proper practice before the event and were able to review our games and tactics to fix everything that we see going wrong then I think we would have a very good chance of surprising people and pulling off an upset against the top teams.

To read more of the players views on their chances at ESWC UK and potentially ESWC Grand Finals, visit dignitas.org

Good Luck guys and everyone attending.
