Well, its been coming but I've decided to resign my position as editor of UKCT. I've been posting on the site for nearly two years and I've seen it grow and arguably mature over that period. My reign as editor may have mostly a one man (perhaps even dictatorial) show, but hopefully the work I put in was appreciated, even if most of it was endless SoA clan posts.

Its been a good run, but its now my turn to hand the reigns over to the new staff which were recruited over the last two weeks. I'd also like to apologize to anyone I may have raged/abused over the last year or so - I'm an angry and arrogant wanker at times and you were probably unlucky enough to get hit in the crossfire. As pissed off as I probably always seemed, I did enjoy putting posts up and seeing the responses they would get.

With that said, good luck to the new staff and I hope you enjoy the new site. I've been told Arkin is putting the final touches to the site, so it should be done soon.

Over at the Enemeydown they have revealed their next major league for the UK's CS 1.6 teams and they have called it the Spring League 2008.

Since the ED:RC went well and smoothly with the 3rd place qualifier happening tonight and the grand final on wednesday and battling it out for the top spot and the cash prize of £750 are TCM vs TLR

The Spring League 2008 is going to be based around the same principles as the ED:RC cup which will consist of 64 teams which will then be broken down into 16 groups.
The top team from each group will automatically be entered into the 32 team straight knockout cup and the 2nd and 3rd team placed in the group will go into a playoff to join the 32 team knockout cup.

The groups will commence on Thursday 1st May and will be held for 3 weeks and the maps will be:

Week 1: de_inferno
Week 2: de_train
Week 3: de_nuke

The knockout stage will continue on Thursday 29th May and of course will be based upon best of 3 maps.

The prizes for the Spring League 2008 have been announced and they are:

1st = £300
2nd = £150

MeetYourMakers showed they are the best team in Poland right now by securing a relatively easy win at Kode5: Poland tonight. The tournament took place over the weekend and saw MYM steam roll all of their counter-part opponents to take a spot at the Global Finals in May this year.

Tonight TheSGL Pro Series: P2P League kicks off and is lining up to be a greatly anticipated tournament. With the league split into SGLPRO: One and SGLPRO: Two we will see a tense level of competition. Each group has 7 teams and the games are scheduled for every Tuesday, SGLPRO: One at 8pm and SGLPRO: Two at 9pm.

Prizes:

Both divisions should be raising a minimum of 400 pounds, depending on the number of players signed up to this event, the minimum amount is determined by 5 players for each team. The prize pot will be split between first and second place 75%/25%, so that means an extra minimum prize pot of 300 pounds for 1st place! An extra 100 pounds is going to be added to SGLPro1 for even more excitement!
