GotFrag: 1.6 A-List

Posted by ukNic on the 6th of February 2008 at 12:18 AM in Gaming News    6 Comments

After releasing the CGS A-List, no Jonas "bsl" Alsaker Vikan has now written an article on who he thinks will be the big 1.6 players of 2008.

Heres a sample:

Contrary to popular opinion carn to me is this year’s most valuable player. Even his highly praised teammate Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg has been singing his leader’s praise in interviews. Lindberg is right. An in-game leader like Sättermon doesn’t receive half of the attention his stellar play warrants.

He has taken Fnatic to the top, and installed a new way of playing the game along with it.

Interview: AdY

Posted by usajowuwu on the 6th of February 2008 at 1:34 AM in Gaming News    20 Comments

Hi, I have found an interview with uk AdY of CGS franchise uk Birmingham Salvo.

empske: For the readers who have only played CSS, how much different is the game to 1.6 and what annoys you about it?

AdY: Well when I first started playing it I found it really annoying at times, especially with the flashbangs and I also found it really random but after playing it for a few months and getting used to it, it isnt really so bad but 1.6 definitely requires alot more skill. Also the AWP can be alot more dominant in source.

Interview: Darky

Posted by ukNic on the 6th of February 2008 at 9:58 AM in Gaming News    5 Comments

SK-Gaming have now posted an interview with pl Marcin “Darky” Sieczkowski, head manager of pl PGS, the organization that housed the old pl Pentagram lineup.

The interview mainly focuses on the loss of the 1.6 squad to dk MYM and the reasons behind it. Heres a sample:

SK-Gaming:I am asking if it isn't the professional backing that the Polish CS players need. One the one hand, you say that your old CS team won so much thanks to the PGS support and on the other, you suggest that with a new team the support would not cut it.

Darky: Polish players need the support, of course. Not only for Counter-Strike, but also in other games. Coming back to the Polish scene again, I think that we have many talented players that would be able to challenge the best if they devoted their time to training.

However, PGS is not the only team in Poland. Our plans as for CS are done, but no one says that Frag Executors or United cannot run a CS section. An article and a discussion on the topic of the Polish esports scene (the CS one and the other games alike) would take up quite a few pages in print.
