CSGN: Winter cup - Delayed

The cup has been delayed for 1 week due to the site being down.

uk CSGN|Kal had this to say:

With the unexpected downtime our site has fallen into we will have to delay the CSGN Winter 1.6 Cup, that was scheduled to resume today, by 1 week. Reason for this is with the site downtime this means the CSGN Anti Cheat will not work and we aren't about to let games go ahead with the possibility of cheaters. Although our dedicated admins will be monitoring all games this still doesn't account for the possibility of "hard to see" cheats. We have spoken to our host and from the looks of things the site will be up ASAP and we therefore chosen a week delay for the cup which should be sufficient to sort out merc's if some of your players already have plans for the date set.

This round of the cup will therefore be pushed to next week and so on.

Already qualifed for the finals:

Interview: SpawN

Posted by ukNic on the 3rd of December 2007 at 11:32 PM in Gaming News    58 Comments

swe Abdisamad "SpawN" Mohamed of swe SK-Gaming has now been interviewed by PGS. In the interview he talks about his CS past, favourite lineups as well as about his current team.

Heres a sample:

PGS: Valve first launched Source and lately long waited ProMod was released. So why professional gamers still play Counter-Strike 1.6?

SpawN: Simple question. Source is bad and 1.6 is still good.

This has nothing to do with this question but I just want to get it of my chest - Most source players are 1.6 players who didn't make it.

CGS: RattlesnK under the spotlight

Posted by ukNic on the 5th of December 2007 at 12:19 AM in Gaming News    19 Comments

GotFrag have just released a CGS player spotlight on uk Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn from uk Birmingham Salvo.

Heres a sample:

GotFrag: What kind of advice has your General Manager (ODEE) been giving you going into the finals? Has he been keeping an eye on any of the other teams?

RattlesnK: Of course, he watches all of our practice games now that we're out in LA and constantly gives us tips on the key aspects which all team games revolve around, like our communication for example. I’m sure he’s been keeping an eye on all of the other franchises and will give each player a few tips against their opponent.
