The ESWC has now officially picked 1.6 for its 2008 season.

ESWC 2008 games:

There are more games to be announced, namely a FPS and probably PES 2008.

Regarding 1.6 and Valve ESWC have said:

We think CS 1.6 is still the best version for competition to date. It is also the most played version. We have signed a licence agreement with Valve for CS 1.6 and we thank them for their support and their trust in our project.

Popular all-ladies clan Team-Ku yesterday announced their new lineup, as well as a partnership with large gameserver provider company CMAX.gg.

The homepage had this to say:

People who are dear to the team knew that we had troubles being a constant active team with Jules quiting cs, bieke finding a job which made it impossible to keep on playing and myself focusing more on real life.

But, we didn't give in!

We kept on looking for active, skilled girls to complete the team and we found them! We have tested people for months and these 3 girls proved to be the most Ku of them all; fabulous, motivated, energetic and most of all: true geeks!

The newcomers hail from around Europe but the majority of the clan still comes from the UK.

Not many changes from last month but with the WCG finals approaching we'll hopefully see changes for the November edition.

The seventh season of the SGLs 1.6 league is now close to opening its signups. Theres been a few changes which are listed below.

Season VII changelog:

Invite and premier divisions cut from ten teams to eight

No custom maps in any division

Divisions three and four becoming part of the open league
