CPL Announces Winter Event

During the panel discussion that took place at the Summer Championships, the CPL announced that it will be holding a CPL Extreme Winter Event on December 19-23, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Dallas.

The Winter Event will hold two pro-tournaments:

$50,000 Halo 3 Tournament (Xbox 360)
$50,000 Counter-Strike: Source (PC)

The Winter Event will also host several open tournaments.

The online registration for the Winter Event will be launched Monday, September 10th and admission will be $75 for pro-tournaments and/or BYOC. The Hyatt will soon offer rooms for $75 a night single.

Teams in Groups 1 and 2 should arrive at WiredInn at 1pm this Saturday (8th Sept). Games will begin at 2pm for these groups.

The maps to be used in the group stages are de_inferno, de_dust2 and de_train. de_cpl_mill and de_nuke will also be used in the bracket stages.

Teams with bootcamp spots will be notified as soon as possible. There are 8 spots in total.
