Following feedback from a number of you about trying to make the matches 8v8 we have increased the player limit on the servers and will be attempting to make the matches 8v8 as requested. Originally we planned to do two 4v4 matches on the nights previously listed but will now combine those into one big match to give the 8v8 most people want.

This also means the top 8 fraggers from each match will go through to the next round, regardless of which team you are on. Frags are counted as the number of kills you get, we are not counting the number of deaths or taking them into account. With this in mind the new fixtures on de_dust2 are as follows:

Match 1: Wednesday the 14th 20:00GMT

Team 1: swe Murdy, uk danceM, ie Spud, uk taLz, uk Ganjaman`, uk toMMi, uk urbangr, uk minik

Team 2: uk ward0, uk smc_, wx PassioN, uk Farley, uk Benji, uk sasman, wx demente, uk Jme

Match 2: Thursday the 15th 20:00GMT

Team 1: pl Logit, uk Godly, uk RKi, sk Nic, uk hurricanez, sx Oxna, uk Trix, uk instinct

Team 2: uk toko, uk Nitrony, uk buggy, uk vogue, uk Takshi, uk Fidget, uk Hendrix, uk Exume

Match 3: Sunday the 18th 20:00GMT

Team 1: uk milner, uk Martyn, uk aLtikal, uk marrakosh, uk Artfuldodger, sx KyleSt, gr ev0, uk DaveK

Team 2: uk cRueL^, uk Toomy, uk Rio, uk bernie, uk Loki, uk fuzzehhh, uk Tay^_`, uk pulse_pnt

Match 4: Monday the 19th 20:00GMT

Team 1: uk artemis, uk Negotiator, uk Demo, uk Calypso, uk coe, uk JungleboY, uk Jilo uk argento

Team 2: uk aedile, uk Callisto, uk erazEEEr, uk benje, uk con, sx dabnips, uk rampage~, uk NukeD

Backup players:

1. uk Friza
2. uk kiz
3. uk Bobathy
4. uk Goat Boy
5. sx adulki
6. uk THECOPE
7. uk Gunn3r
8. uk RuLe
9. uk jake
10. uk Sam
11. uk Ganjaman

Due to the change in format, we have also decided to increase each match to 30 minutes long rather than the planned 20 minutes, to give everyone a little longer to wreak havoc. It is also important to remember you must be running the SGL AC to play on the servers, anyone not running it will kicked from the server and will miss valuable playing time.

**It's time for overtime!

Posted by mymadSpunK on the 13th of February 2007 at 7:42 PM in Gaming News    67 Comments

Well here we have it, from the depths of some hidden basement another frag movie finds daylight and this one is rumoured to be "the special one". What am I jabbering about I hear you ask and the answer is it's the movie based on the exploits of overtime, those loveable rogues formerly from Last Chance. It has been made using HD and is the handiwork of HTF, the man behind the virtn movie, so it promises to be something different and unique. Below are a couple of statements from madSpunK and co. about the production.

madSpunK : After months in production, the overtime movie is finally complete. After watching the virtn movie I was amazed at the quality of the movie, and decided to contact HTF and get him to work on the overtime project. Demos have been taken from SGL:t, CSGN Cup and most importantly the WSVG London qualifiers, with in depth footage of the ever famous overtime Vs 4Kings and Seven.

HTF : I think overtime builds on my previous releases once again. I believe that every release should build on the previous one. virtn movie set a new standard for UK movies in that it was HD, which has never been done in the UK before, but the final product was tacky, because it wasn't a proper project, it was my own clans movie that i did in my spare time. Overtime is a lot more professionally done.

The overtime boys would also like to thank MashtoN for the in-game commentary, wute - cptsui - ninteh for the additional mirrors, RTM-Gaming and SteelSeries for supporting overtime. Hope you all enjoy it!

shgOpen - Interviews

Posted by ukNic on the 13th of February 2007 at 8:57 PM in Gaming News    12 Comments

Over the last few weeks swe MeetYourMakers has been interviewing some of the teams who are taking part in shgOpen 2007. The event kicks off this weekend in dk Copenhagen and swe Nostra has been contacting some of the clans and this week uk RattlesnK from uk dignitas is being interviewed.

Heres a sample:

Nostra: A lot of lineup changes shook the Counter-Strike scene during the New Year. How is your team training for the event, since all the top teams are attending the shgOpen, aswell as new faces and brand new formations?

RattlesnK: In the last month we have mainly been practicing on the 6 maps required for the event and also competing in UK leagues like CSGN and TheSGL. The change in our line-up meant that we had to start from scratch and we are comfortable with our preparation for the upcoming event. We will have a 2 day boot camp at Boomtown in Denmark prior to the event which should stand us in good stead come February 16th.

This selection of interviews also contains chats with de approx from de aTTax, swe suppe from swe defs and is SpiKe from nl Praetoriani.

i30 Signups Open

Posted by ukProtex on the 13th of February 2007 at 9:52 PM in Gaming News    51 Comments

It is that time of year again, the time that people mull over the decision as to whether or not they should attend the UK's largest LAN event. Multiplay's i30 promises to be the biggest yet with 1500 places available and using both the Grand Stand and some of the Berkshire stand.

Now it is widely thought that Multiplay focus more on the CSConfused and Battlefield communities now with ever increasing prize funds for the tournaments and fewer CS 1.6 teams attending but this is not the case. i30 has the potential to chage that with a possible £7000 depending on how many teams attend and signup.

Signups for the event have opened today and already there are 500 paid to attend due to the early registration period following i29. There are however plenty of places left although these do have a habit of going quickly so if you team fancies attending for a weekend of guns and glory go and get yourself booked in.

Some of you may flame previous experiences at events, others may scream at the ticket price but remember; this is the UK's largest LAN organiser, the events are generally fun and this one has the potential to put some more money into the CS scene if you guys take the opportunity and go, simple as that.

The Info:

Dates: 6th April - 9th April
Ticket Price: £80
Tournament: CS 1.6 and others
Prize Fund: Upto £7000

So what are you waiting for? Round up your team and get yourself involved.
