mTw lose silver and Tixo

Posted by ukNic on the 9th of December 2006 at 1:52 PM in Team News    0 Comments

The rumours of de silver and de Tixo leaving de mTw have now been proven to be true, as mTw have now announced they will not be attempting to renew the pairs contracts. It is widely speculated that the two will join de Mousesports in early 2007 to form a team with de Blizzard, at gore and de Kapio.

This leaves mTw with:

de hYde
de macman
de shiddy
de XaVe

Good luck to mTw and the players involved!

Posted by scoDuke on the 10th of December 2006 at 6:34 AM in Team News    0 Comments

One of the top 5 UK teams, uk virtuoso, have found a new player to add to the activity of the team. Its none other than ex uk highfive and sx ImG player, uk RuLe. The team have been recently lacking in motivation and hopefully this pickup will kick start them again!

virtuosos lineup:

uk jeNuwiN
uk mh
uk monkE
uk NicholaisoN
uk RuLe
uk ZaG (partly active)

Join me in wishing them the best of luck!

CSGN: Open Cup 2006 - The Teams

Posted by ukrv3z on the 10th of December 2006 at 10:56 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

It's going good with UK CS and where would we be without CSGN. This upcoming week they bring another great idea to give the oppurtunity to clans so show what they're made of. The admins had the following to say about the upcoming CSGN Open Cup:

This Christmas, the CSGN Opencup 2006 is bringing a regular bout of competitive gaming to a server near you. Do teams play for a chance to win £1000 worth of gear from SteelSeries, Logitech and Icemat, or will they be after a chance for auto-berth into CSGN Season 9 (the most well supported CSGN Season to date)? Maybe they will be looking to rack up points for the CSGN ranking system that will be used to invite teams to a Grand Final event in the new year! Either way, this is a great chance for some excellent gaming. Let the frags begin!

The CSGN Opencup 2006 group standings are below. The tournament is split into two groupstages, followed by a single elimination knock-out structure (A full explanation and schedule can be found here). This post will be updated with resuts and the group tables will be adjusted with new placements appropriately. The map cycle for the Primary Group Stage is De_Dust2, De_Nuke and De_Inferno.. The map rotation for the Secondary Group Stages will be announced in the next few days. Please note that the server key at the bottom will be updated with IPs on Monday. Please idle in #csgn and #csgn.cup for news on this tournament. Please be advised that a link for the new CSGN anticheat will be available Sunday 10th.

The group games will be taking place between Monday the 11th and Thursday the 14th.

Good luck to all teams.

theSGL: Dustworld BYOC II

Posted by enguzi on the 10th of December 2006 at 4:07 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Anyone who has been watching over the last six seasons of theSGL will no doubt have noticed that we tend to be spontaneous in our actions and indeed in our announcements (the last event “theSGL:t” only took seven weeks from the original idea to the completion of the event itself for example). Well, after the success that was the Bristol ESWC qualifiers there was no doubt that there would be another one. So, with this in mind what have we got lined up for you this time?

When?
Friday February 17th – Sunday February 19th 2007. A full three days of solid gaming. Tournaments, bootcamp, fun competitions and socialising are sure to keep you busy over the course of the event.

Where?
Exact location to be confirmed, Maidenhead, Berkshire. Excellent motorway and rail links right on the doorstep.

What?
BYOC LAN event, up to 360 seats, Counterstrike 1.6 and Source cash prize competitions on tournament machines for each of the two game types, secondary prize competitions in BYOC section for each game type with sponsored prizes. We are currently looking at a £2000 cash prize fund for the main tournament events.

Features...
1GB Internet connection open for gaming use giving you estimated pings of 1-3 for UK servers, 3-10 for European servers and a playable 45-60 ping to the USA makes this event a three day bootcamp for teams as well as a LAN tournament in its own right. Take on teams online whilst having a LAN ping for your team – it should be illegal. This also enables you to use your own Ventrilo and Teamspeak servers for your convenience.

Full details of this event will be made available within ten days time once a venue inspection has been made and photogaphs and a detailed description of the facilities can be provided. Stay tuned and watch this space.
