Interview: Geepak

Posted by nzNic on the 3rd of December 2006 at 7:45 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Over at HLTV.org uk Ecto has composed an interview with uk Geepak, owner of the TmG organization and now of the CSGN league. The interview talks about the changeover as well as the 1.6 team.

Heres a sample:

Ecto: We heard rumours a few months ago about TmGL – will this still go ahead or is CSGN now your big focus? And will CSGN become TmGL in a few seasons time or will the CSGN Brand stay?

Geepak: Well i can't give too much away regarding our motives but CSGN will stay! Its a superb brand to work with and obviously has the following and reputation. The general plan is to merge TmGL into CSGN and have the TmG & CSGN brand running seperately; although it will still maintain various obvious connections, similar to how companies like PC World & Currys run separate but are owned by the same people.

Tonight is the second match for team uk UK in the Clanbase NationsCup X, it'll see the UK team taking on opposition in the form of be Belgium. The Belgium team consists of a few players from be defusekids including be Apollo formerly of eu ancora but whether he'll play is yet to be seen. I believe the map is de_cbble.

Interview: Gonad

Posted by nzNic on the 4th of December 2006 at 10:36 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

With the HLTV.org interview with uk Geepak discussing the recent takeover of CSGN, uk Obsidian has released an interview with uk Gonad, the other half of the TmG management. In the interview Gonad clarifies some of the points made in the HLTV.org interview, as well talking about what exactly will happen to CSGN. Heres a snippet:

Obsidian: So the CS 1.6 CSGN will remain as it is?

Gonad: Indeed, the feedback on how well CSGN has been run in the past would make it very difficult to actually change too much. The general manner in which things have been done will remain the same; however, it would be unfair for me to say that nothing will change. We plan on offering more in the way of compensation to the admins, to ensure that there are consistent and well qualified people running the day to day games that ultimately make CSGN what it is. Likewise, teams will be able to interact more with the site, and more events will be available in the future.

A good read, expanding on the points from the Geepak interview.

UKCT: Aimers Adulki wins!

Posted by ukMartyn on the 4th of December 2006 at 12:06 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

So after last week’s announcement, the fixtures are ready for the public! The games will kick off next Monday 4th December at 7.00PM. There were no seedings for the tournament the games were simply picked in the order of signup with the first signup playing the last and then working its way inwards. I want to stress this tournament is simply a bit of pre-Christmas fun and any whine etc... About the workings with result in removal from the tournament. All games will be played on aim_map and must be played on the server owned by the first name in the fixture unless agreed by both parties to use a different server. Results must be submitted to me via PM on irc through the channel #UKCT. The format each match will be an MR10 format, so basically first to 11 with a swap over of teams after 10 rounds have been played. Demos may be requested and all players must be present in #UKCT through out the tournament for updates.
