Posted by enguzi on the 17th of September 2006 at 11:48 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Well it’s been over 3months now and theSGL has done very little online at the end of season 5 we announced we was taking a break so we put our feet up and played Battlefield 2 however we have kept in touch with the scene and all the events that have been happening.

We now feel it’s the time for theSGL to return we promised a week of big news and announcements this one isn’t particularly big but it’s a taster of what is to come. So to start the build up to season 6(coming soon) we are hosting the first SGL CUP RUN.

theSGL CUP RUN

This week we will be running a series of 16 team single elimination cups from 8pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the top 4 from each of these cups will be put into the final played on Sunday.

  • Games will be on our servers provided by dustworld as ever with hltv and of course SGLac must be used.

  • Maps: de_nuke, de_inferno, de_train, de_dust2 (not in that order)

  • Sign ups for Monday are open now and the sign ups for the other days will open at 9pm tonight.

  • *UPDATE- The winner will recieve a dustworld private server for 3months*

On a side note I would like to say that the whole admin team has returned, Season 5 saw me (Blizzard) head up the whole season, this time round I am pleased to say both me and Uzi will be running the competitions including season 6.

Its time to pick up your AK’s, load your M4’s and dust off your AWP's because the build up to SEASON 6 has OFFICIALLY begun. theSGL has Returned so in true traditional style it has to be said.....

    JUST AVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

    theSGL CUP RUN : Monday

Posted by enguzi on the 17th of September 2006 at 10:58 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

The sixteen teams applied and accepted to the first night of theSGL CUP RUN are listed below. If you did not manage to get your team involved though do not despair as sign ups for the Tuesday heats will open on theSGL.com directly after the matches for the Monday heat finish. The top four teams from each nights heat will automatically qualify for the Sunday night final, in which the winner will walk away with a Dustworld 1.6 private server with three months duration. If you fail to make the last four in any of the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday heats then you can still sign up for the heat on the following day. Thursday will see the last four teams go through to Sundays final. Teams who have secured their place in the final will not be accepted for any of the other qualifiers. If any of the teams accepted into the any of the heats are unable to play they must let us know no less than two hours before the match is scheduled to begin -failure to do so will exclude you from participation in following heats.

The winners of the above matches will play off at 10pm on de_train for a place in the Sunday final. Due to the fact that we only require to get the last four from each nights competition we will not be playing through to a semi or a final each day and the matches will end at the quarter final stage. All matches are being played under SGLac and exceptions to this will not be made. All teams have MUST have a full roster of at least 5 players on their team profile no later than 7pm. Players registered at any time until 7pm are eligible to play in this event. Standard theSGL 1.6 rules apply to this competition. As stated above, teams who missed out on this round of applications or teams not qualifying in the last four of this round should watch out for the Tuesday sign ups opening.

uk ImaGine (folded) 0 : 30 uk Trademark Gamers
uk Infinity Gaming 0 : 30 uk virtuoso

    CSGN - Week 8 - de_train - Division1

[match] time=21:30 flag1=uk team1=Engine On Mute score1=xx flag2=uk team2=oTT score2=xx hltv=hltv2.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=CSGN [/match]Prediction: David vs. Goliath? somehow i dont see the same outcome in this one though. eom to win, and with a game in hand vs. coax, with a win tonight im pretty sure they have secured the #1 position and division win.

[match] time=20:30 flag1=uk team1=Spartans score1=xx flag2=uk team2=gOtgame score2=xx hltv=hltv1.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=CSGN [/match]Prediction: Alot of tension i have seen on the ukct and csgn post boxes, from spartans and sickboy, about gOtgame beating spartans in pcw's? hmm perhaps there could be an upset, especially with emotions flying high!! who knows? Spartans for the win tonight.

[match] time=20:30 flag1=uk team1=eSports.edge score1=xx flag2=uk team2=ctx score2=xx hltv=hltv2.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=CSGN [/match]Prediction: edge have already played against coax from whom ctx took rawfist and danneth from, knowing there play styles? could be interesting.

[match] time=20:30 flag1=uk team1=Prototype score1=xx flag2=uk team2=coax score2=xx hltv=hltv1.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=CSGN [/match]Prediction: Prototype had a good start to the season and still are doing very well, coax have had there ups and downs but seem to be picking things up alittle with there new roster, with the likes of DamaruS in the team. Prototype for the win, but an upset could be on the cards if coax have been practicing.

[match] time=21:30 flag1=uk team1=Artis.SGL score1=xx flag2=ie team2=Grinded #RTMGaming score2=xx hltv=hltv3.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=CSGN [/match]Prediction: This is possibly game of the night, Artis have had a really bad season, but with a good lan perfomance, but grinded are still the favorites due to there recent form online. grinded to take the win again tonight.
