Just a quick reminder that WSVG London is taking place from the 6th to the 8th of October 2006, in the Trocadero, Piccadilly Circus. That gives you just over a month to sign and get paid up!
So far the following teams are confirmed:

hoorai

[64AMD]

FenomenalJugadores

cubesports

wNv.eu

forZe

Pentragram G-Shock

fnatic
Unconfirmed but registered:

cheQ

FtD

Fx.Simplus

Team Faxzup

speedlink

virtuoso

GamersX

The 1st place prize for the CS tournament stands at £6,500 pounds and with entry only costing £10 this should hopefully make up for the travesty of an event that was KODE5.

How to qualify for the 160,000 Euro Extreme Masters

Finally, the qualification for the Extreme Masters by ESL has been opened. It is the right time to further explain how a CS team or a WC3 player can qualify for the Extreme Masters. To guarantee the best lineup of participants possible, we have setup an application mode that we would like to present to you.
All participants that are going through one of the qualifiers have to send in an application first. There are three stages that you have to pass before you can take part in the qualification and send in this application:
Step 1 (Registering at ESL):
You need to have an ESL Account that you can register easily and free of charge. Just state your nickname and a valid email adress (please do not use a hotmail or yahoo email address) and complete the registration process. If you want to take part in the CS tournament as a team you also need a team account with leader permissions for this account. If you already have a team or player account at the ESL, you can of course use it and do not have to create a new one. Check out
url[http://www.esl.eu/eu/special/4050/][this FAQ]url for a detailed description of how to register and enter the required information.
Step 2 (Filling your profiles with information):
You need to fill up your account with all relevant information before you can begin the application process. All this information needs to be marked as public in your account. Obviously your residence should be the same as the national qualifier you are applying for. Let us start off with the requirements for a WC3 player:
Full Name
Birthday (including year of birth)
Address (City)
MSN or ICQ (only of those required)
IRC Channel
Photo of you
Game Accounts (Name of your Battle.net Account AND GG Client Account)
With CS teams it's a litte more complicated because you need to make sure that EVERY member that is registered in your ESL team account has filled in the information below. Also 3 members of the team have to be from the same country as the qualifier the team is applying for. The following information is required:
Full Name
Birthday (including year of birth)
Website of your team (needed in the team account)
Address (City)
MSN or ICQ (only one of those required)
IRC Channel
Minimum of Five Team Members
Game Account (Steam ID)
Useful hint for managers. Look in the "members" section of your team account to see the status of your individual members. There you can see who already entered his Game Account.
Remember: All the information that is required needs to be ticked off as "public". Also check our url[http://www.esl.eu/eu/special/4050/][FAQ]url should you have any more questions about your account managament.
Step 3 (Application process):
Once you have filled in all the necessary information you can start the application process. First of all you need to choose the qualifier you want to take part in. Choose from the list at the bottom of this news. After you have chosen the qualifier for your country and game, you can start the application by clicking on "signup" in the menu. You are only allowed to play in the national qualifier of the country that you live in (WC3) or where at least three of your players live (CS)!
You will then be prompted to enter information about you, so we have some facts about you or your team that helps us decide whether you are fit to take part in the Extreme Masters national qualifiers. The following information is required for CS Teams:
Team History and Achievements
Events Attended
Future Events that you plan to attend
The following information is need for Warcraft 3 players:
Player History / Achievements
Events Attended
Future Events that you plan to attend
Upload of 5 demos
As stated before (see
url[http://www.esl.eu/eu/masters/news/26846/][this news]url about qualification procedures) participants from countries with an active ESL Pro Series are not allowed to take part in national qualifiers.
The deadline for applications ends on September 6th!
Please prepare the information needed for step 3 in advance. Steps 1 and 2 should pose no problem to anyone. Step 3 will need some time and preparation but
prize money of 160,000 Euro (about 205,000 USD) should be worth the hassle. Help us to make the Extreme Masters the best international online/offline tournament ever. Make the best of your application and we are looking forward to having you play in our new league with Offline Events in Hamburg, Stockholm, Paris and London.

The teams have been announced for Extreme Masters CS Qualifier.
Only four teams have signed up and they are:

4Kings

Artis.SGL

doitonlan

dignitas
Bit of a poor turnout, but still we should see a grudge match between goldbrick and 4K to hopefully avenge their i-28/WCG loss!
goldbrick go Dignitas

With a WCG: UK victory under their belt and a free trip to Monza in Italy later this month to compete with the very best that the Counter-Strike 1.6 scene has to offer. To many it would be rather surprising if I now turned around and said that one of the team that was to travel to Italy later this month had turned around and left the team, but an even bigger surprise the team in question turn around and join one of the biggest organisations in eSports that night.
goldbrick have been a team that many have been talking about as the next big team within the UK for a number of months now and their win at the WCG: UK finals earlier this month put many of their doubters to sleep. The team that managed to win the WCG: UK finals and was set to travel to Monza, Italy consisted of puNt, Rattlesnake, w1cked, vpr and immuNe but this morning it became obvious this would not be the case. Rob 'immuNe' Frith departed from the goldbrick team this morning heading over to the TmG camp in place of sLy stating he dint feel right within the team leaving them one man down for the UK finals with DarryL, the inactive player on the goldbrick roster likely to fill in.
It also appears now that goldbrick have been picked up by the Dignitas organisation. Many may not be aware as to the level that the Dignitas organisation has reached mainly due to the fact that they have not been heavily involved in the Counter-Strike 1.6 scene in the past. The venture they have taken on in recruiting the goldbrick team will open up a whole new set of opportunities for the goldbrick team as they will be fully backed by Dignitas and their sponsors.
Best of luck to the Dignitas team.
