ESL Extreme Masters signups open!

Posted by ukNic on the 1st of September 2006 at 6:23 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Signups have now opened for both CS and WC3 for the ESL Extreme Masters. Each country has a qualifier in which to enter to move into the finals. Swedens qualifier has already occured, with swe SK-Gaming coming out top.

Click here for the whole ESL newspost and the signups at the bottom of that page.

Should be a good tournament, with an overall prize pot of 160,000 Euros (about 107,000 Pounds) it hopefully will be a hotly contested competition.

Gamers Choice announce CS team!

Posted by ukNic on the 1st of September 2006 at 10:55 PM in Team News    0 Comments

With the creation of new server company Gamers-Choice, a CS team has been created to promote the company.

uk Reality
uk Arch
uk bash
sx CAI
uk san

I caught up with Reality to chat about the team.
Nic: How did the team form?

Reality: Well, we thought how can we promote gamerschoice at the same time as playing in a team to have fun and to maybe get some customers in the process plus, the fact that ive known them all for years made it an easy choice.

Nic: next lan you're hoping to attend?

Reality: What lans are coming up?

Nic: Infinity-Gaming 4.

Reality: Might go to that and the WSVG thing as well.

Nic: any quick shoutouts?

Reality: Buy our servers and play on 81.19.219.142:27015 #GamersChoice :: Dust2 24/7!
The team can be found at #GamersChoice and servers start at £1.50 a slot!

Good luck!

The 32 entered teams have been split into eight groups of four and will battle it out to move into the double elimination stage of the tournament. Update: 4K Vs. NiP

Posted by ukpie on the 3rd of September 2006 at 11:06 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Afternoon all! Today we see our very own uk 4Kings take on arguably the top team in Europe right now, swe NiP, as they face off against eachother in the semi-finals of Clanbase's Euro Cup.

Both teams will be playing with out their complete roster however, as 4K bring in Mysse to replace the banned Natu, and NiP bring in SpawN to replace HeatoN.

uk 4K [xx:xx] swe NiP

uk 4K Lineup: Mangiacapra, aKujii, AdY, DaY, Mysse
swe NiP Lineup: SpawN, walle, zet, ins, RobbaN
Maps: TBA
HLTV: TBA
Time: 20:00 GMT

4K have been looking better and better with their new recruit AdY, however the loss of Natu, who was very crucial to 4K's success at ISC will surely affect the team tonight. NiP also have SpawN as their stand in, however he has already played with NiP for a few events, including wins over fnatic, aTTaX and x6, where they won the NGLone Finals.

Prediction: 4Kings < NiP [00:02]

Good luck the_kings

Update: Rescheduled to later date by NiP.
NiP have had to reschedule the match to a later date due to travel arrangements, the match will be played next week on either Thursday or Friday.

cbteam meet their makers!

Posted by ukMartyn on the 4th of September 2006 at 10:12 AM in Team News    0 Comments

With the demise of catch-gamer earlier this year and the formation of cbteam, a team filled with potential and talent but lacking financial backing the team was bound to be picked up by a big organisation in due time and last night that time finally came with the announcement of cbteam joining up with the organisation mYm.

Unfortunately this has also meant that the old swe mYm Counter-Strike team mYm.swe have had to part ways with the organisation. It is not yet unsure what the players will do but swe MegatoN, the brother of NiP-Gaming player SpawN has announced his retirement from the game.
The official mYm statement - swe Jonas 'admin' Hamidi.
It has been a great time to work with MYM.cs the past months, but sadly we have not reached the goals that we aimed for, therefore I’m really sad to let the guys go and I wish them all a good future in e-sports. At the same time I’m glad to work with almost all of my old team players from team9.no except juven9le, who is also a great player. We had a nice year in Oslo together and we made great results.
mYm.no

no Geir-Stian 'juve9le' Svendsen
no Lasse 'xione' Stokke
no Sondre 'REAL' Svanevik
no Preben 'oops' Josdal
no Preben 'prb' Gammelsæter

Best of luck to the new team!
