Statements

virtuoso were seeded second at IG3, do you think you were seeded rightly and how well do you think you will do? Top3?

virt-PHILLYPAIN: I think its a fair seeding considering virtuoso's placings at the first two events. We havent practised much as nick and i have been on holiday for the past couple of weeks, hopefully we'll do ok, atr will be top 2 for sure

grinded were seeded 12th at IG3, some think that this is a somewhat unfair seeding, what's your take on this, how well do you think you will do, and what's your top3?

sorted: top 3 will be virt, atr, acm i reckon and dont care too much about seeding as its our 1st big lan as a team ... were just looking to grind some ma

cheQ were seeded 11th at IG3, are you happy with your seeding, how well do you think you will do in your group, who do you think will be top3?

cheQ-hendrix: Even though we know our skill level ourselves, we thought that others may not have rated us as highly as they should have. Because of this, we expected a lower seed than we got, so we were pleasantly surprised by the seed. In our group, we have endEffect, team-blubs and tFP. I think we should comfortably get 2nd place in our group, and will be pushing for first place. my top3 would be 1.atr 2. tmg 3. virtuoso simply because of there lan exp out of all the teams attending

doitonlan were seeded 15th at IG3, placed with teams like virtuoso, superbreasts and Team-31 how well do you think you will do? top3?

diol|Logit: we have virtuoso in our group a very strong team who have been seeded 2nd, this will be a hard game for us. We dont know who team-31 will be as of yet, but we are hoping to go through to the next stage of the tournament. my prediction of top 3 is alltherage 1st virtuoso 2nd tmg or eom 3rd

endEffect were seeded 6th at IG3. How do you think your seed represents your team , how far do you think you can go, and who are you most looking forward to playing

eE|kiD: considering we have never played any officals at lan or online under the eE name we are all really pleased with our seed! Neil (nitrony) has been on holiday for a week so we have been playing with a danish dude friend of ours who is really good but neil won't be too up on strats and that for when hes back but i guess we are hoping for a top 3 finish, I'll be happy with 3rd. personally im most looking forward to playing tmgamers so i can woop ma big bros kurt n bob's ass

Have eE being getting much practice in for this LAN u've only recently just formed.

eE|kiD: we've been a bit n00b lately in pcw's but i am sure that is cos we have been playing so much, so we took a break for 3/4 days and commence playing with the danish dude on monday, id say were 60% ready for the event but well try our best

seeded 4th then eom, how well do you think you'll do in your group, and who do you think will be in the top3?

eom-Montrose my top3 in order are atr, tmg, virtuoso. we have been put in a group that has some decent established teams so we will be keeping our heads above water and operating with caution

TmG, seeded 3rd, how well do you think u's can do at IG3? Who's your top3, and who are you most looking forward to playing

tmgamer|RedH: Well i think we can win it if we play well so we are pretty confident. My top three would probably just be the top 3 on the seedings hopefully not in that order though!! We are looking forward to playing atr and virtouso, they should be some good games

So there you go the teams, seeds and some quick interviews. I would like to thank virtuoso, GRINDED, cheQ, doitonlan, eE, TmG and eom for the interviews. Good luck to all teams attending.

The Interviews

Hi ZaG, being the hailing champions do you think atr will have a tough time holding this title?

atr|ZaG: Well we all know anything can happen in CS these days! We're just gunna do our thing, not worry about anything else and hopefully things will work out.

How well do you think Reality is currently performing for atr, will he be able to prove himself as a worthy replacement for AdY at IG3?

atr|ZaG: Pete is doing just fine! He likes to play a lot which is very good for us and theres no doubts over him being able to perform! He's a confident lad Smile

Do you think Cirelands lost a bit of weight now hes dissapeared off the scene? Or have McDonalds just been hit with a massive boom in business.

atr|ZaG: I'm pretty sure McDonalds isnt the only place to suffer! But he's probably kept his weight up by locking himself in his bedroom and digesting steelpad mousepads!

LozZa is always seen as being the 'weaker' player in atr (I feel sick just saying it). How do you think LozZa feels about this? Will he unleash some lightening pain at IG3.

atr|ZaG: haha, he's too busy on ventrilo making toasts and calling people to the diary room in his big brother voice to let that get to him Smile other than that there should be some lighening coming out of 'the guns'

Thanks =)) That is all, cya at lan buddy!

atr|ZaG: cya there dickhead!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Havok, so clan-luck just became unison? Could you enlighten everybody on why that is.

unison|HAVOK: Well after moongames, there was alot of difference and arguements going on within the team. MAinly about tactics, rotation (general whining etc). We felt it was time for the clan to fold. As me, 3dg3 and Kud0s live near eachother we thought we should stay together, with the addition of DeM0n and DJDriveBy.

Being in Group 1 with alltherage, unison & PIRATES! how well do you think unison will perform being a relatively new team.

[quote]unison|HAVOK: Well I don't know the lineup of the last team, but with it being a mix I feel pretty confident we can pull wins off against unified and PIRATES! (who comes up with these names? Tongue) As for alltherage, im aware 9/10 days they are a better team than us, but all it takes is that 1/10 of luck rounds and pure fluke, and there could be an upset. However we are aiming to finish 2nd and face virt on train in the next stage Grin

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hear your in the All-Star team alltheboobies, can you reflect on how amazing this team is?

alltheboobies|MutuM: THEY ARE FUCKING AMAZING.

alltheboobies|MutuM: end of interview?

Ok ok good input, no its just begun.

I have ran out of questions, thanks for the interview.

alltheboobies|MutuM: LOL

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With Virtuoso currently holding top spot on the IG ranking you've got alot of support from the audience to win IG3 and demolish alltherage. How do you think you'll perform with the recent team changes?

virt-monkE: We havent practised much so we cant expect anything great, we'll just go at them with confidence knowing on our day we can take them.

Your knew lineup contains WilzOOO and trix from Xstars whom Virtuoso beat at IG2, seen as one of the best matches to lay the smack down at IG. And ofcourse yourself from highfive, do you think you'll be able to live up to expectations with hardly any preperation and practise?

virt-monkE: Honestly, I dont know, but im more confident about the potential in this lineup than I have been in any other team iv been in.

From a gamers point of view, where do you see IG-CS heading in the future. Or just CS in general!

virt-monkE: I think this year will be the biggest so far, and with a bit of luck itll continue to grow

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, PIRATES! What inticed you to create such a brilliant elaborate name?

PIRATES! ward0: We all decided we'd like to be pirates, just for a weekend.

Having a look at your group, will you be expecting to qualify for Day 2 easily?

PIRATES! ward0: That's the plan anyway, atr will beat us naturally, and we should beat the other two teams in our group. Well, that's the plan anyway.

With the arrival of big Houdini as many will remember from the ui days, do you think many will crumble in his presence.

PIRATES! ward0: I know i will, I dont know about the rest. Nah, shav hasn't been playing much these days, I was going down to see him anyway and we decided to come up. Let's just hope he can be awesome on the day. I believe.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hear cruel-intentions are going to pull out something special in the light of IG3. Can you elaborate on how amazing you guys are for those that don't already know.

ci-JF: rofl, well i don't know about that, but we'll have a go.

Would you have headbutted Materazzi?

ci-JF: lol, I would prefer to headbutt christiano ronaldo.

Ok, it appears my creativity is terrible and I have ran out of questions. Thanks for your time!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you see cheQ performing in Group 6.

cheQ-Rio: I see us progressing first through the group stages with no problems at all.

So what your saying is that you don't rate endEffect at all! KiD wont be happy about that. Who do you look forward to playing most?

cheQ-Rio: endEffect look good, but T believe we can overcome them if we can take our recent online performances into the lan. In the group stages i feel the game of us vs endeffect shall be the one to watch especially as its on d2, could be anyones game.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being in Group 6 how do you think the group will look by the end of Day 1.

eE|KiD: Well not tempting fate but if all goes to plan we should be top, but we will go about our business with the upmost caution, anything can happen. If everything goes to plan in our camp then the game to watch for the group stages will be Team-Blubs against cheQ, im gonna go with cheQ to nab second spot with blubs and co third...

When questioning cheQ, Rio stated that endEffect will be no threat to them. Any response to that?

eE|KiD: lol

eE|KiD: That is my response if your waiting.

endEffect were seeded 6th for IG3, some say thats a somewhat high seeding as you havn't attended a LAN together. How do you feel about this?

eE|KiD: Reason haven't attended a LAN together under their name either i don't think im probably wrong... but if anyone has a problem with it then hopefully well have to face them sometime in the competition and see if they're right!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi SiL^, could you give me a quick rundown on how you think Group 7 will end up looking at the end of Day 1.

edge|SiL^: If im really honest im not quite sure of the other teams lineups in our group apart from your own i believe, as which were not really preparaed and think its gonna be a close run between alltheboobies and esports.edge.

Are esports.edge pleased with their seeding and group?

edge|SiL^: Yeah, very pleased.

Who are you most anticipating playing against at the tournament?

edge|SiL^: virtuoso, but maybe a:b or whoever the underdogs are Wink

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello RuLe, you are in Group 2. Could you enlighten me as to how you think the groups will stand.

NoD|RuLe: If we play virt first then NoD first and virt second, otherwise its gotta be virt first NoD second.

Quite an optimistic answer with no reference to either of the other two teams. Where do you feel your final tournament placing will be?

NoD|RuLe: Well if we do come first in group we should miss out atr until the final so im looking for a top 4 placing at least.

Having been to both the previous IG events and placing 4th twice, will you be looking to continue this amazing run or demolish it by hitting 1st?

NoD|RuLe: Im deff hoping to continue it, any higher will just be an added bonus.

I hear your pulling out all the stops with secret weapon Rob "immuNe" Frith, the Italian Stallion. Could you tell the audience how someone such as yourself could be in the same team as this superstar?

NoD|RuLe: I actually have no idea, i pm'd him for a joke getting ready to laugh when he tells me to shove off and he said yes. Honestly don't think iv ever been as happy as i was then. God bless you Rob.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi sLy, with many of the audience backing TmG where do you think your final placing will be?

TmG|sLy: With CS you never really know whats going to happen! But we are aiming for a top 3 finsh. Anything below that would be a disapointment for us.

With your recent results versus 4Kings are TmG looking to annhilate alltherage?

TmG|sLy: Hah. Well it was certainly a ego boost. If things go our way I hope we can beat them. I imagine it will be pretty tense!

*** Reply from atr|Kardy to this comment:

"tbh :x"

***

I heard kurtis pulled someone at IG2, how on earth did that happen?

TmG|sLy: hahaha, only thing kurt would of been able to pull was when he pulled a burger out behind the counter at mcdonalds.

On a more serious note, hsm won't be participating for TmG at IG3 but you will. After previously dropping from the lineup and coming back after hsm joined, why will hsm not be playing for TmG after having performed well at ESWC?

TmG|sLy: When Rich joined, he was recruited as a 6th player. We had the 5 we're attending with as our main 5man line-up for a longtime before Rich joined and we've allways stuck by this line-up, even after I left. Tough decisions were made over who was going to go and who wasn't but in the end this is how it turned out.

Whilst you were not in the TmG lineup and the seedings were being made, you pm'd me and said "Make sure TmG have a hard group" - Are you happy with TmG's group now your back in the lineup?

Haha, now u know that was a joke desp! Grin - Na to be honest, yeh I spose I am happy with our group! From a mature point of view, I guess its fair to say we havn't exactly been given the hardest group out of all the top seeded teams attending, though saying that you can never be to relaxed against anyone at LAN tournements as upsets do happen.

From another point of view, I guess it will give us a chance to practice our tactics in a LAN official environment ready for the knockout stages against harder teams that is of course if we stay focused and get the wins in the group stages that we are expected to.

Was troJ dropped from the lineup because you felt he would perform badly at LAN?

If the others felt tr0j may perform badly at lan then the others would not of brought him in in the 1st place. I've already said why in the above questions why troj was removed from the team! If him being posibly bad at LAN is anything to do with it, then how comes i've been able to stay in the team for this long? Smile

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do jogon feel about their Seeding & Group?

jogonElite33: We are happy with our group and seeding's, looking forward to proving we deserved that seeding and having fun at the same time Smile

Do you feel that vital asking to be switched with intake to be in Group 3 is a form of cockyness?

jogonElite33: some people are never happy, someone was going to get a hard draw but if you want to do well you have to beat a good team sooner or later, its not really cocky, but it shows a lack of respect for the the seedings and for us. As a metrix team found out at IG2 when they came up against FCU u cant just expect to win! its up to vital to prove the admins wrong Smile

Being the legendary drunkerd of IG2, do you feel you can continue this role for IG3?

jogonElite33: Well on the saturday i have promised the lads in my team that i will try me best to stay off the drink, but come sunday im sure the fun will be well underway. i cant promise another video as good as the last 1 as i cant remember any of it lol. But im sure that there will be something unforgetable to happen again im not the shy type Smile

Can you remember what you were dreaming of whilst touching yourself? See video here!

jogonElite33: No i cant Sad i wish i could though cuz it looked like it was fun if only we could see what goes on inside my head

Do you want to take this opportunity to publicly appologise to admin David Wood for diving on him (assaulting him!!) for apparently stealing your beer?

jogonElite33: i would LIKE to apologise as this was not his fault but a viciousacusation upon him by none other than you yourself desp, i said LIKE to as i cant apologise as he has already said he would do it during this IG so i shall be watching him!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are Vital happy with their seeding or do they feel they deserved to be seeded higher?

vitalIrish: As the seedings were based on previous LAN experience, I feel the seeding is just about appropriate. However, if online performance was a factor I would expect us to be seeded a good 7/8 places higher. So yes, we are happy with our seeding. We just got one hella unlucky group.

Having been unsuccessful in bribing the admins to switch you groups, you face Reason-Gaming, Grinded and Wired-Inn. How do you think these matches will play out?

vitalIrish: Our first game on D2 vs WI, I expect us to win - no matter how dire we are on the map. Reason-Gaming have ****loads of experience and are very skilled. We play them on nuke. To beat them we would need a lot of luck and practice - both of which we are getting none of lately. We have played Grinded before and it was a close game, however, they have improved a lot recently and I would expect our game with them on inferno to be our toughest.

Asking to move into Group 3 is rather cheeky, are you saying that this is the worst group in skill preferences out of the 8?

vitalIrish: Well, cheeky or not I would rather play jogon over Grinded. No-one with any amount of sanity would disagree with me. If in group 3, our chances of having another day of cs on the sunday would increase to near certainty.

Lastly, what do you like best about England!

vitalIrish: Oh dear god, are you serious? It would have to be The Premiership.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi ace, I've seen Artis practising a lot recently. Will you be pushing to top your group?

Artis|ace: Well we are expexting a #1 finish in our group with ctx coming in second.

Having aced 4Kings at LAN, and being called ace, that makes you the best player to grace the earth. Should ctx be worried?

Artis|ace: haha. I have my good days and my bad like any player. Well, we are all scared of yeri, so with him in the team anyone we play should be worried about playing us. But its a team game and if we dont all pull it together i can see ctx getting something out of us

Many teams see Yeri as an 'online' player, are you not concerned he will not perform at LAN?

Artis|ace: Yeri is our tactical genius, he decides our whole play within a game. If we do one thing wrong, we get an ear full. Ive seen yeri lan before and i have my faith in him. The only thing we are worried about is if he looses his voice. Hes even moving into my house next week untill Artis folds, which will be 2 weeks after lan with Exume in the team.

Tactical genius eh, so he is in theory Spetz_Naz_1?!

Artis|ace: Yes, but yeri isnt a cock.

Now onto more serious issues, with IG admin exo in the team, will you be looking to cheat your way to the final??

Artis|ace: Ofcourse! any easy way is always the best! Thats the only reason hes in the team didnt u know?

You were seeded 8th behind Reason-Gaming whom you recently beat online, do you disagree with the seeding?

Artis|ace: We were hoping for a top 8 seeding, so where we are now is fine. There is maybe 1 or 2 teams we think we should be above but its up to the admins and were arent going to argue.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being seeded 5th for IG3 has concerned many teams, questioning why you have been seeded there. Could you reflect on how Reason-Gaming feel about their Seeding & Group.

[R]Venom: We're all happy with our seed, I wasn't personally expecting it, as we are quite a newly reformed team. But we all have a fair amount of shared lan and online experience so we're hoping to finish higher than our seed. We're confident of progressing through the group stages, however we don't want to underestimate some of the teams we haven't heard of as anything can happen on lan.

Some teams in the competition are being anticipated as 'close' games, such as the likes of TmG, virtuoso and atr meeting up. How well do you think Reason-Gaming will be able to compete against the likes of these teams?

[R]Venom: I think we can definitely give them a good game, personally i believe we are individually as good as any of players attending, we've all been competing against these teams for years in different lineups. Hopefully with a bit of online practice over the next week or so and our day of lan practice before the event we can develop our teamplay to put in some good competition.

Lastly, could you tell us a bit about the Reason-Gaming organisation. I hear they have a nice LAN centre in the UK.

[R]Venom: Although i haven't personally spoke to the organisation that much, from what i've heard it's all positive, they have some of the best halo and cod2 squads in europe and have some great sponsors. Also a very nice looking lan center in worcestershire which we can use whenever we want to attend, with 4x 8mb ADSL lines and 12 top end shuttle pc's which is ideal for us to play online games on any server in europe.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From being seeded mid 20's for IG2 to 4th place for IG3 how do you think eom will be able to perform in Group 4?

eom-Montrose: We have been put in a group that has decent established teams, so we will be keeping our heads above water, treating every game like its our last and operating with caution.

After beating your 'rivals' TmG at IG2 and losing to them at ESWC, do you think you have what it takes to demolish them at IG3?

eom-Montrose: TmG have always been a major force in the UK scene, so no question that it will take a seriously intense effort to beat them let alone destroy them.

It's said that after h5|toko, you have the best hair in UKCS. Could you elaborate on how it feels to be second best to the toko?

eom-Montrose: My aim has always been to hold the number 1 spot........so.........toko beware fool!!!!

We've seen the eom lineup change significantly in the recent months, do you think this is the best lineup eom has had?

eom-Montrose: Without question Desp. I wish I met Jack 'Callisto' Mason alot earlier, such a safe guy & adds friendliness & comdey to the squad. The same applies to Tom 'Goldeneye' Salt, well, he's been inactive as he's moved house & is waiting for his phone line & internet connection to be done, plus he couldnt make IG3 cause its the weekend of his dads wedding. But other than that, as eom Manager & being in the thick of it, this is the best lineup eom has seen.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you do it on lan??

diol|TakshI: Hopefully, just hope we get out of this gay group Wink

Are diol happy with their seeding?

diol|TakshI: Yeah, happy with our seeding, just a bit annoyed we got gayed over with team31. The 2 teams with team32 in their group have lower seed then us yet 50x easier group Sad!

So you went from being a mix team at IG2 seeded last, to a clan seeded 15th at IG3. Do you fancy your chances for the tournament, where do you feel you will end up?

diol|TakshI: If we make it past the group games we hope we can win another on 2nd day, if we make it to the 2nd day we'll be happy though Smile! I hope top 16!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grinded seeded 12th for IG3 appear to feel they should have been seeded higher, could you elaborate on this!

grinded|HazEh^: umm. well it doesnt really matter to us we'll just try and do our best and show we are better that most of the teams above us at the lan. theres less pressure on us with less expectation from ppl and the seedings reflect this

Being in Group 5 you'll be looking to startle some opponents by making the opening win versus Reason-Gaming. How do you feel this game will go?

grinded|HazEh^: We're pretty confident we can get ourselves off to a good start against reason. We would be dissapointed to lose to them since we beat them a couple times online, whatever happens we are confident of gettin out of the groupstages with no problems. we're not bothered about startling any teams, we're just gonna play our game and see what we can do

CSGN: Signups live

Posted by engtorr on the 17th of July 2006 at 2:00 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Over at CSGN they have started a new season, season 8 to be exact. Sign ups are now open for 5 days so get those applications in now!

Official CSGN post below :

We are proud to announce the application form for CSGN Season 8 is now open. We have a new and updated AntiCheat on the way, with more prizes than ever and we hope to run the most smooth season to date. If you want to be apart of the relaunched CSGN, go ahead and apply now! All teams will be considered fairly in turn as always, so you have nothing to lose.

All you need to make sure is:
• You need to be the team leader to apply.
• Your clan needs to have 5 registered members with SteamID’s and what not all filled out (basically a fully working profile).
• You can only apply ONCE and ONCE only.
• After submitting the form it will take you to a page which states “Thankyou for your interest in CSGN”.
• If you have read this then your application has been received, any further application from your ClanID will be ignored.
As such, it is your first application that counts! If your application was useless, that was your only chance.
o The reason for implementing such strict rules on this front of the application process stem from the fact that we have far too many applications as it is, let alone to start “correcting” any.
o We are going to be cracking down on a lot of the problems from previous seasons so expect us to be a lot stricter with our rules.

• We must stress the importance of every field of the application process, including the “Clan Statement” field.
This is often what separates most clans from the others; a well written and informative (no bullshit please) statement always goes down well!

We will be holding some places back in Division 4 once selection has finished. These places will then be sold for a small fixed amount. The reasoning behind this is simple. Firstly, it allows some teams that didn't make it through the usual selection process to have a shot at playing in CSGN. This is the type of team that wouldn't otherwise get a chance to play. CSGN Division 4 is all about new blood and new chances, so we figured this will allow this to develop. Obviously the hard part about picking teams, especially for Division 4, is picking ones that will not fold. We hope the pay2play aspect here will prevent that and help act as another filter.

SpawN leaves SK

Posted by engtorr on the 17th of July 2006 at 6:39 PM in Team News    0 Comments

Rumours about changes in SK's international Counter-Strike team have been circulating the community for a few weeks now, but today those rumours will be put to rest, as we officially announce the adjustments to be made within the squad.

It is with great sadness that we announce the departure Abdisamad "SpawN" Mohamed from the team. He was an integral part of SK's successes in 2005, and a key member of the squad that achieved the first places in both the Summer and Winter CPL events of that year.

The new line-up for the SK Gaming CS team will include two new, but familiar faces, as we are happy to announce the return of Mattias "Snajdan" Andersen and the addition of Jimmy "allen" Allen to SK's international Counter-Strike squad. Both are players who are vital to any squad, and have proved this on a number of occasions over the past several months.

swe Jimmy "allen" Allen
swe Christer "fisker" Eriksson
swe Jonas "GoodFella" Virtanen
swe Mattias "Snajdan" Andersen
swe Christian "vilden" Lidström

Mattias is of course a familiar face to the SK team, who went inactive a few months ago. He is now back after his break and is full of energy to play alongside the SK team once again.

Jimmy however shined onto the scene during his time with the Gamers on North squad, and was later picked-up by Raw Gaming to continue his successes. He is a skilled young player, who is likely to shine even more throughout his future with SK.

Michael "ahl" Korduner will not play in the active roster of the team; however it is not certain what his future will look like. SK has offered him a spot in the management to show their respect towards him, but he alone will decide on that and SK will totally respect any decision from him.

Abdisamad's contract with SK will be ending at the end of the month, where he will be free to move on to wherever he desires. He has been a great player and friend of SK for many years, and we wish him all the best in the future.

The new line-up of SK Gaming will play in their first event together tomorrow, in the online qualifier for the KODE5 Sweden event, which will of course be covered in full by SK-Gaming.com. They will also play their NGL-One matches this week, with an upcoming bootcamp at Inferno Online starting on Wednesday. We are looking forward to a successful future with the new team!
