The other games going ahead tonight are:

Group F
ru Russia [xx:wildcard] nl Netherlands
dk Denmark [25:05] it Italy

The first games in the enc 2006 were also played this week with the main shocks perhaps being Turkey's victory over Iceland and Swedens dominance of Norway. Anyway, onto the results:

First game results

es Spain 24 : 06 wo Isreal

Group B

Hopefully the UK, even without the presence of Mangiacapra and aKujii, should be able to take down Romania with ease!

ESL Premiership Matchday 6

Posted by ukNic on the 15th of April 2006 at 11:14 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

As matchday 6 draws near, fan-favourite adulki takes a detailed look at the teams involved in todays matches.

Heres a brief sample of adulkis view of the alltherage/highfive matchup.

alltherage seem to be playing pretty well together now that they have the confidence of winning IG LAN buton the otherhand highfive have just got cRueL back to replace RuLe. I think is a good thing due to cRueLmaking the team happier and hopefully he's been playing a bit so he has his usual deadly skill. I think alltherage will win this though with several factors coming into play, one being that highfive haven't been playing as much as they usually would as far as im aware and alltherage generally being the better team. I think the overall score will be 16-7 to alltherage.

Players to watch: ZaG (alltherage), w00kie (highfive)

The matches in full

alltherage 17:06 highfive

Virtuoso Resch:eduled AcuMen

ImaGine 01:00 Epandor.RAPTOR

Wink Resch:eduled eom

TEAMAMERICA Resch:eduled Choke

The more observant amongst you will notice that we are missing two games from the list above. This is because two of our original teams have folded and will take no further part in the competition.

The frag table is looking quite intresting, with Kardy taking number 1, with in-form danceMag taking the 2nd spot, just ahead of Ady.

i27: thk Champions!

Posted by ukpie on the 16th of April 2006 at 3:30 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Happy easter to y'all___. Just moments ago, LAN heroes uk Trigger Happy Killerz won another event, in the ever competitve realms of i27. With the wide range of teams there, most of them consisting of the best teams in the UK, there was really only one favourite. Consisting of the almighty Si, Mx, Benneh, Stu and teamX Lukeh, thk would fight their way through the strong competition, to take home £40 each and free entry to the next one!

[match] time=ChampionShip-Final flag1=uk team1=thk score1=16 flag2=uk team2=WildStar score2=09 [/match]

uk thk: Mx.Si.Benneh.Lukeh.Stu
uk WildStar: damage.apprentice.axion.mou53y.insane.protex

Congrats to the guys on the awesome win who are now playing in the UT2K4 Tourney.

Stu says: "another good iseries, possibly the most entertaining to date =) good final, well played wildstar! and we only had to oil lukes wheels once"

Enemydown Anti-cheat Released!

Posted by ukNic on the 17th of April 2006 at 10:00 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Before you all start jeering and heckling, read the post.

From enemydown.co.uk

We are very pleased to announce the release of the EnemyDown Anti-Cheat. This for now is for Counter-Strike only. Obviously for an initial release there are bound to be bugs, so should you encounter any, please screenshot the error and post with as much info as possible in the ED Help Desk Forum Sticky Thread.

This isn’t mandatory for now, but we would encourage you to use it as much as possible so we can drive out any errors that may exist. Details of how to use the Anti-Cheat can be found in the Rules Section here: http://www.enemydown.co.uk/wiki/hel p/index.php?page=EDAC_Information

Perhaps this may tempt more 'skilled' teams to join the league - as probably many people have encountered, ED has a large number of lower skilled clanned that when you beat them heavily they automatically put in a conflict, hopefully this should deal with this problem.

The Anti-cheat itself is..

...for now at least, simply a screenshotting anti-cheat device. Screenshot`s are taken whilst the Anti-Cheat and your game are both open and then stored on your PC. As soon as your game is detected to have been closed, the client will upload your screenshots. Should you tamper with or delete the screenshots the Anti-Cheat can no-longer be used. Should your computer crash at the end of your game, your screenshots will simply be uploaded next time the Anti-Cheat is opened. It cannot be used again until all your screenshots have been uploaded.

Even though many people don't play on ED anymore, its still a good move for the scene as a whole. With ED's new league planned (with invite!) it could perhaps see ED as a respectable league to play in for skilled teams.

Time shall tell As usual, links just below.
