UKCT:Tournament Round 1

Posted by scoSilver on the 4th of April 2006 at 2:29 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

"UKCT:Tournament"

UKCT:Tournament 1st Edition

The UKCT:Tournament has now hit the half way stage as the real fight for survival now starts tonight, the top 2 teams to surpass from their groups have now passed into the double elimination stages sperating the weak from the strongest. As it is a double elimination format tournament, losing teams will not be knocked out. They will be sent into the lower bracket where they can still fight for survival to progress into the finals.

de_dust2 will be the opening map for the UKCT:Tournament Double Elimination stages. de_dust2 is probably one of the main maps for close intense matches and tonight we may see probably what could be the most intense matches ever in the tournament. As we now head into the half way stage of the tournament, teams who have scrapped through the group stages really need to put on their thinking caps and pull off the results they need to advance into each round.

"TsN"

We have chosen ie Wink vs uk Team-esu as the main match to watch tonight. Wink as you are probably aware have been branded as one of the most consistent teams in the United-Kingdom but what happens when you mix the fomula up a little bit and add in Team-esu who have been a dominant force this year and just recently winning Limbo LAN. Add the two chemicals together and you will be guaranteed to get an explosive match on our hands ladies and gents. Brought to you by TSNCentral.com , We Call The Shots!.

WEG Masters 2006 Postponed

While the players from SK Sweden and other teams were in the air on their way to China for the WEG Masters 2006, rumors started spreading that the WEG Masters 2006 would be cancelled because of some problems with the Chinese government. This all sounded unlikely because the event was supposed to start this week and the cancellation would be very last minute but unfortunately the rumors were confirmed by a player from SK Sweden.

Some time after these rumors were spread Christer "SK|fisker" Eriksson phoned home and told SK-Gaming.com that he received official word from the organisers that the event will indeed be postponed and that teams and press who have not yet travelled to China should contact their airliners to try and get refunds.

An official press release has not been sent out yet but we will keep you up to date about the events as they happen.

Thx towards the sk site for this info

xlnz back on track! update

Posted by ukrv3z on the 4th of April 2006 at 3:55 PM in Team News    0 Comments

A lot of rumors have been flying around when team9 fell apart early this year. REAL and oops decided to join Catch-Gamer, which later led to Catch releasing Juzam and zevy. Well one of those rumors has finally come true. And that rumor is that the old school Norwegian team xlnz is reborn. So far there are only four players, who the last one will be still remains to see. The teams first appearance will be at this years The-Gathering event in Hamar, Norway from 12-16th of April.

The team consist of only 4 players yet but im sure we have some news about the new fifth soon.

no Jungelbobo
no Raven
no zevy
no Quailman
no Juzam

Juzam a former player of catch-gamer is brought into the team what leaves a good looking lineup. In a small statement the team had the following to say.

"Our only goal is to participate at The Gathering '06 and we'll just see after that.
We have just started to practice today, and we will crush Team Aftermath and win the ticket to ESWC 06 . Team eXcellence is currently NOT under any organisation att all. More information on this will be cleared up after The Gathering."

Gonna be a good team so gl to them.
