"We have been praccying as a mix team for quite a while and alot of us have attented lans together so we are confident about giving scotland a good game and doing our country proud...we also checked under their kilts and found them not to be real men and we intend to prove it!"

CAI, Team Captain of Scotland

eng Team England [xx:xx] wx Team Wales

Looking at Wales lineup I dont really see anything that will get in our way, should be an easy win for the England team. This game will be an opening for some of the players into the competition, alot of eyes will be on jenuwin, we'll see how they all do under kardys arm!"

Desp, Team Manager of England

"It should be a good game but we'll have to wait and see, we're counting on players natural flare to take care of this competition."

EAS Winners : Acumen

Posted by scoSilver on the 3rd of April 2006 at 3:33 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Tonight we saw a final burst of excitement in the Amateur Series as the top teams tried to sneak that illusive top spot and steal the prizes from underneath Acumens noses...Did they succeed?

In what ended up a very tense night indeed for those at the top of the Amateur Series im pleased to announce the final standing in this competition as we award the prizes! Although the Amateur Series is continuous, we hope you agree that awarding prizes throughout the season adds a whole new factor to this type of competition.

The top two teams decided on playing each other in a Winner Takes all situatio on this weeks map which was of course, de_dust2. A game that may be described as a classic in time as these two teams battled it out to the very end.

uk AcuMen [16:14] uk Virtuoso

AcuMen: AlesKi, sLy, 101, RedH, Kurt1s
Virtuoso: jeNuwin, mhxxx, NicholaisoN, Rain, RazeH

"EAS was a fun league to participate in. Being able to schedule your own games and play as much as you feel like around other static fixtures is a nice option to have. We are even more pleased to pick up the victory on its first season and look forward to the next!"

Aleski, Acumen

SGL: Season 5 applications LIVE

Posted by ukpie on the 3rd of April 2006 at 4:37 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Evening doods and doodettes. It is with great pleasure to announce that the best league in the UK is now ready for the storm of applications for season 5!
There is an all new rule set coming your way, not for matches themselves but a general set covering pretty much everything from player registration to match conflicts which you will need to familiarise yourselves with especially the introduction of wildcards to cut down on the rash of defaulted matches. We retain both the support of Dustworld with their superb league match servers for you guys to shoot the hell out of each other on, and the generous support of Corepad bringing you the last word in professional gaming surfaces.

We are going to retain the current league structure as it stands from SGLi to SGL:Four, teams can expect to be promoted or relegated based on last seasons final standings with new teams being brought in from the open leagues to fill in the spaces in the Premiership and lower divisions, as ever teams entering the SGLi will be at our discretion.

Sign ups are open now and first fixtures will be on the week commencing May 1st on de_inferno. We hope to see you there and we also hope to see you in Bristol at the end of May fighting it out for the £1000 first prize for CS1.6 and would like to take this opportunity to point out that you do not have to pay at the time as your sign up for the lan. Just pointing this out as places are getting filled up rather rapidly and we dont want people missing out just because they thought they had to register with payment
    .
To apply for this awesome league just click onto competitions, SGL 5, and then apply! Simple as that.

Good Points: First things first, i loved the quality of the movie. It was like looking through a crystal and watching it in perfect view so i had no problems actually seeing the frags. Secondly where the actual frags which i also loved, man how the hell do you control your recoil like that blacky is beyond me but some of the frags where just utter sick. The music was another
positive note for me, Yellowcard and Zebrahead are two of my favourite bands so even tho they are a little bit over used you can't get sick of them. I liked the outro aswell for some bizzare reason, you have your credits scrolling up all happy and all you see is Adrenaline Junkies racing down Lower B tunnels and ending up nading themselves. Typical! Believe it or not, there was a few good syncing clips in the movie aswell which was good.

Bad Points: Even tho i really love you blacky, it has to come down to a little bit of bad points. Lack of creativity was a big factor you where missing out on, you could of pulled something unique in the movie to set it apart from the other usual frag movies getting released this year. No in-game sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love movies with in-game sounds and this just didn't have it which i was a little bit dissapointed with but still enjoyable none or less. Another factor was the effects, even though i wouldn't put that down as a bad factor because sometimes i hate movies that overflow with effects but i thought this movie could have a little bit more shine to it if you know what i mean. The length wasn't really that long aswell, you need a new hard-drive blacky, ill buy you one for your birthday!

Conclusion: A well made movie about Blacky from AMERICA, has all his frags in with enjoying music to go along with it. Please note, if your looking for a movie that doesn't overflow with effects and has good music with good frags then please download this movie, if your looking for the next speilberg or however you spell it then don't download. I personally loved the movie and as long as i love blacky then its all good. Give it a little pick up lads and a little viewing and tell him what you think.

Movie Soundtrack:

Yellowcard - Breathing
Zebra Head - Rescue Me
Gary Jules - Mad World
