UKCT:Tournament Match 1 Preview

Posted by scoSilver on the 2nd of March 2006 at 1:18 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

"UKCT:Tournament"

UKCT:Tournament 1st Edition

March 7th Tuesday 2006 will mark the day where we will see the first round of fixtures being played in the group stages. The 32 teams will be battling it out on de_train, a awp heaven for some teams.. a tactical maze for others. This is a map that is classed to be fair and will test alot of teams.

Please remember that you must have 5 (or more) players registered on your team profile with valid steamids. theSGL Anti-Cheat must be running while playing your match. If you do not follow these rules then your team will be default the match and be kicked out of the tournament.

TsN Coverage

"TsN"

As promised, Team Sportscast Network (www.tsncentral.com) will be giving you commentating coverage on the match of the night. We have agreed that ie Wink vs uk Made in England will be match of the night on Tuesday and therefore will recieve commentating coverage from TsN.

Fixtures

(Win-Draw-Lose)

Group A

uk XSTARS (0-0-0)
uk CTX (0-0-0)
uk Valor (0-0-0)
uk Regret (0-0-0)

9:00uk Regret vs.uk Valor

Pre-Match Report: I personally think this will be a good match between these two teams, i was a bit hesitant on letting Regret participate in this tournament but i really hope they can prove me wrong in this one. They will be up against an ex-SLYNA team under the name of Valor who just recently got bumped up to SGL Division 1. This match is going to be the battle of heart, both teams have had the same lineup for a reasonable amount of time so nothing should be knew, and with the map being de_train then it's just going to make this match that much more exciting.

9:00uk XSTARS vs.uk CTX

Pre-Match Report: Considered to be one of the best matches tonight, XSTARS are considered favourites to win this tournament will be taking on CTX. With the recent success at Infinity Gaming 2, XSTARS will be looking to cause damage and progress through to the double elimination and CTX will be their first victim. don't count CTX out just yet tho, they are also hot favourites to progress from the group stages and they might just give XSTARS a run for their money.

Group B

uk Made In England (0-0-0)
ie Wink (0-0-0)
uk NoFear! (0-0-0)
uk Coax (0-0-0)

9:00ie Wink vs.uk Made in England

Pre-Match Report: Match of the night will see the irish, wink, take on the england legends,
Made in England. This will be a very close match between these two teams who have so much to offer and will be showcasing their talent on Tuesday in what seems to be an explosive match to watch. de_train as you may aswell know it will be the 1st stage map and this will really test the two teams to their maximum ability. Im beggining to worry if Made in England can keep up with the competitive Wink, ive not seen them in any leagues or nothing and this may cause them where as wink are competiting in theSGL Corepad Invite and ESL Pro Series which could come in handy but this will all reveal during the match.

9:00uk NoFear! vs.uk Team Coax

Pre-Match Report: This is another match that i think will be good to watch, NoFear! who just recently lost Bernie from their lineup will be needing a win against Coax to even have a chance to progress through to the elimination stage. This will be the same for Coax, a win tonight is deffinent to keep their dreams to hitting the elimination stages alive. Theres going to be a whole lot of drama and ofcourse a whole lot of headshots during this match.

Group C

bra On Our Own (0-0-0)
uk Choke (0-0-0)
uk Scene (0-0-0)
uk LicK (0-0-0)

9:00uk LicK vs.uk SceNe

Pre-Match Report: SceNe have been impressing alot of people recently (Me being one of them) and they will continue to impress in this match. They will be up against a strong LicK team who not only have the skill and talent to do it.. but can deliver when asked, unless they slip up which seems to happen at times and this match they can't afford to do so. An even stevens match in my opinion and i think it's going to go to the team who prepares the most. SceNe are currently on top of their SGL Division (1) where LicK are neck 2 neck with 6 teams for second place. This will be an interesting match to watch.

9:00uk Choke vs.bra On Our Own

Pre-Match Report: Recently recruited into theSGL Invite division, Choke are planning on starting their new year with a bang and they will be wanting to place high or even win this tournament. They are up against favourites to win the group, Brazilian stars.. On Our Own. On Our Own have also been a force to be reckoned with and letting them gain the lead in a match has caused many opponents to lose the match. This is going to be an a fun game to watch and just see how Choke will cope against On Our Own. I believe this may be the first meeting between the two teams in any competitive competition but if not.. you won't be dissapointed!.

Group D

uk Engine On Mute (0-0-0)
uk Team-esu (0-0-0)
uk goldbrick (0-0-0)
uk Spartans (0-0-0)

9:00uk goldbrick vs.uk Team-esu

Pre-Match Report: Team-esu who replaced AcuMen in the tournament will be playing against a competitive hard working team who always put up a good fight when ask.. they are none other than Harmless. Known for their stable performances, Harmless have the first bash to one of the favourites to win the group stage and may play crucial to whether they make it or not. Team-esu who have the lineup to deliver but haven't actually achieved anything majour will be looking to change that this year.

9:00uk Engine On Mute vs.uk Spartans

Pre-Match Report: Engine On Mute have came back into the UK scene like a hurricane, placing very well at Infinity Gaming 2, they will be looking to test themselfs in this tournament. They will be up against The Spartans who they have already beaten but to be honest, have never went down without a fight. The Spartans will be the team to have a bash in at the favourites to win to group stage and as i said before, a win on Tuesday may just enhance their luck to progressing into the elimination stage.

Group E

uk Progazmo (0-0-0)
uk Vita (0-0-0)
uk Starlike Gaming (0-0-0)
uk Pulse Gaming (0-0-0)

10:00uk Progazmo vs.uk StarLike Gaming

Pre-Match Report: progazmo who are currently competiting in the ESL UK Premiership will be looking to gain their first win in the tournament in what seems to be one of the hardest groups in the tournament. StarLike gaming will be their opponent and looking at their lineup, they could be strong competitors to winning but the question that lies with me is.. Can they execute the command and win? Tuesday we will see them both battling it out which could be a close match but could also be a match from hell for a team.

10:00uk Vita vs.uk Pulse Gaming

Pre-Match Report: Vite and pulse gaming are rather the new teams at the moment, pulse gaming who are currently neck 2 neck in theSGL premiership for 2nd place have to win against their opponent to having a chance of progressing. Vita who just recently formed with a really good lineup which could do some damage against the teams competiting in this tournament will be testing themselfs out for the first time against Pulse Gaming. I have no clue on which way this match will go.... But isn't that the way it should be? Wink

Group F

uk Dot.Matrix (0-0-0)
sx ImaGine (0-0-0)
uk Wonderboys (0-0-0)
uk KillerCreation (0-0-0)

10:00uk Wonderboys vs.uk KillerCreation

Pre-Match Report: Wonderboys who are currently 2nd in the SGL invite division behind high5 look to be strong contenders to winning the group stage. KillerCreation who i haven't really seen in action but judging by their lineup could cause Wonderboys a bit of a problem if they are not taken seriously. This will be a good match to watch and i will not be suprised if an upset may occur.

10:00uk dot.matrix vs.sx ImaGine

Pre-Match Report: dot.matix who took over for Fluid Element find themselfs against group favourites and high contenders of the tournament playing ImaGine. dot.matrix who seem to have an explosive lineup have to do everything (PERFECT) to even have a chance of gaining a victory over ImaGine. ImaGine who ive always thought of to be a top UK team will be looking for the win tonight to progress into the elimination stage. The question that still remains for me about their team is.. Do they have that extra edge that will take them further?. We will find that out on Tuesday!

Group G

uk SLYNA (0-0-0)
uk highfive (0-0-0)
uk Ticklers (0-0-0)
uk ForsakeN (0-0-0)

10:00uk ticklers vs.uk highfive

Pre-Match Report: highfive need no introduction... a team that has always been branded one of the strongest teams in the UK will be looking to gain their win without any hickups. Ticklers who find themselfs in what seems to be the hardest group will have a rough ride but shouln't be taken lightly. They are a team with high ambitions and they could snatch that match right off of you at any time and this is what makes them a threatening team in the group.

10:00uk SLYNA vs.uk ForsakeN

Pre-Match Report: ForsakeN also need no introduction, favourites to top the group and progress into the elimination stage... they will be playing a new formed lineup of SLYNA. Desp has went to the lengths of finding a new team that can execute on command and he will need it for this match.

Group H

uk Synergy (0-0-0)
uk ethernet (0-0-0)
uk Mutiny (0-0-0)
us AMERICA (0-0-0)

10:00us TEAMAMERICA vs.uk ethernet

Pre-Match Report: ethernet are another strong competitor in the tournament, favourites to win the group will be playing against the USA heroes.. TEAMAMERICA. TEAMAMERICA are a team that have just recently been able to find their form as we see them leading theSGL Premiership. They may even have a suprise for ethernet when it comes down to the match. What we do know is , this is a match that everyone has to watch in my personal opinion. I will not be suprised if an upset was to happen.

10:00uk SyNergy! vs.uk Mutiny

Pre-Match Report: formly known of cZar and now known as syNergy, favourites of the group to win will be wanting to win their first match under the new tag. They will be up against a team that no one seems to know, Mutiny. Mutinity are underdogs of the group in many peoples eyes but could just aswell get a few results that may shock you and prove alot of people wrong. Tuesday we will see both teams battling it out on de_train and who knows... maybe this match could go to hell for Mutiny, or maybe it can go according to plan.

Good luck to all participating teams!
