reMoNdE 2 Movie Review

Title: reMoNdE 2
Director: Java "reMoNdE" Remonde
Size: 274 MB
Codec: WMV9
Length: 8 minutes 43 seconds
Starring: Java "reMoNdE" Remonde

Information: This as you may have guessed is the sequal to reMoNdE. reMoNdE 2 takes you through a whole new level of Java "reMoNdE" Remonde's moviemaking talent with superb editing and use of audio. It was created by reMoNdE and Produced by #Flip-side Pro. Prepared if you are unprepared!

Introduction: 8/10
Quality: 8.5/10
Effects: 8/10
Editing: 9/10
Sync: 9.5/10
Frags: 8/10
Creativity: 7/10
Audio: 8.5/10
Outro: 7.5/10

Good Points: The director Java "reMoNdE" Remonde makes this movie look very proffesional with high quality and great use of audio all the way through the movie. The introduction was very fast paced with camera fly in's but was effective and done the job. The director doesn't at all over do the effects and only contains them in nessecary scenes. The syncing in this movie is just unbelievable, I personally think this is the favourite part of the movie alongside the editing. The director makes an amazing job to the movie with his talent. Another thing i liked was the clearness and crystal clear sound of the audio which ive never seen another movie do.

Bad Points: There was some parts of the movie that threw me off it a little bit, the first reason was due to the lack of good frags. Don't get my wrong... the frags in this movie is up to par but i was looking for that little edge further which i didn't feel the movie achieved. Another reason was the choice of music which i think has been overused. Creativity of the movie also get it a downside as you get hundreds of movies with this type of style which reMoNdE 2 doesn't seperate itself from the catagory.

Conclusion: A very well all rounded movie that has everything in it as ive mentioned at the top. It has strong points and weak points but still is a movie that you should watch. A keeper in my books and you can keep watching it until you die! (Literally). Hopefully another sequal will be getting released and i hope the director carry's on board the critisism here at UKCT.

ESL Semi Finals

Posted by scoSilver on the 5th of December 2005 at 11:07 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

"ESL"

Electronic Sports League Winter Cup has now progressed nearly into the final stage with the last 4 teams remaining will be fighting for a place in the Winter Cup 2005 finals. de_inferno will be the choice of map for the Semi-Finalists to compete on. A very well balanced map that any team can get the motivation and win easily from either side. This map will seperate the keyboard from the mouse.. in other words.. The big boys from the little ones, you know what i mean?. Most teams will say alot of fakes should be used on de_inferno but i absolutely disagree. I think that short paced rushes is the key to this map, get into that bombsite quickly, plant the bomb and get into your counter defence positions. Fakes in other hands will be useful aswell but maybe not used too much in the matches!. What will be the biggest problem that could occur while playing this map? Letting your opponent pick you off 1 by 1 which could damage your positions and possible damage your rotations which could result in alot of confusion which is where FAKES will be useful for the opponent to take advantage over on you. DON'T GET PICKED OFF!!! Tongue

UPDATE: uk goldbrick progress into the ESL UK Winter Cup 2005 Finals!

uk Goldbrick

http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/6822/gol2vh.jpg

Team Report: Goldbrick have been a very solid team in this tournament with a solid performance right up until where they are now (Semi Finals). With very suprising victories, goldbrick may be the most feared team in the tournament at the moment but still have a lot to prove. Tonight they will be up against SLYNA who i believe will test goldbrick for what they are capable of. None or less if goldbrick win tonight then they will be heading into the finals with a positive attitude.

Team Lineup :

uk aNubis
uk Bradd
uk DarryL
uk pcferg
uk puNt
uk RattlesnK
uk StoppA
uk vpr
uk w1cked
uk XpRes

Team Results:

vs uk Coax (WIN)
vs uk Omg! (WIN)
vs uk Wink! (WIN)
vs uk SLYNA (WIN)

uk SLYNA

http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/1064/sly0xn.jpg

Team Report: I personally think SLYNA have had an easy ride through to the Semi Finals. Their first real test did come against ImaGine where we seen a close vitctory16 - 12. Tonight they will be tested more than anything in the tournament as they are up against a very strong goldbrick. I think the mistake SLYNA can make tonight is if they take this team too lightly.

Team Lineup :

uk Desp
uk Lexbi
uk Finch
uk grimbob
uk madSpunK
uk Melt
uk MutuM
uk Nerdface
uk RonnieR

Team Results:

vs uk Kaos-Gaming (WIN)
vs uk riZe Gaming (WIN)
vs uk ImaGine (WIN)
vs uk Goldbrick (LOSE)

uk Virtuoso

http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/294/virt6hb.jpg

Team Report: Looking on paper these lads are a top notch team and have sailed through the tournament at the moment with no real big tests for them. Sunday 11th will mark the day for probably the biggest match to watch as we see a team that noteable is better on paper but a team like AcuMen who are consistent. What mistake can Virtuoso do to cause them this match? I think if they don't prepare for this match then it will hurt them big style so good luck lads!

Team Lineup :

uk JeNuwin
uk mh
uk NicholaisoN
uk Rain
uk Razeh
uk Wez

Team Results:

vs uk digitalkillerz (WIN)
vs uk EngineOnMute (WIN)
vs uk NitP (WIN)
vs uk AcuMen (N/A)

uk AcuMen

http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/6352/ac6wi.jpg

Team Report: AcuMen as you probably know are a consistent team when playing and i think they have shown this all the way through the tournament with no hick ups. Sunday 11th will be their first test in the tournament, they will be up against Virtuoso who i have mentioned above. A very strong team for AcuMen to take on but AcuMen are always full of suprises and pull off the most suprising results. With the recent addition of AlesKi will this hinder them in anyway or improve them? They really need to be on the dot for Sunday to get a result passed Virtuoso, Im not saying that Virtuoso are impossible for AcuMen to beat but if they don't prepare then they will be punished for it.

Team Lineup :

uk Kurt1s
uk moTo
uk Sengcheek
uk sLy
uk Zaked
uk AlesKi
uk Nitrony
uk SolutionX

Team Results:

vs uk PlayTime (WIN)
vs uk InControl (WIN)
vs uk Deliverance (WIN)
vs uk Virtuoso (N/A)

Good luck to all the teams and may the best win Smile

HLTV.org no more?

Posted by uk1337 on the 6th of December 2005 at 8:36 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

The most known provider of HLTV services is once again in need of help. Last year they were in the same situation and found a suitable partner but it seems the cooperation was only temporary and now HLTV.org is in danger again. I'll let nomad do the talking and show you the press release .

Okay here is the deal, only one year after our last sponsor cancelled their deal with us, we are once again in the same situation, and after the 1st of March we once again stand without a head sponsor, 8 machines (some 50GHz), and half a gigabit of bandwidth short. We cannot go into further detail on our sponsorship with Boomtown, or why it will cease soon, at this time, so please do not ask.
Last year many suggested doing donations, but getting the new hardware alone will cost in the range of 10.000~15.000 Euro, and to be honest we do not believe raising that kind of money is possible through donations, so while we appreciate the desire to donate, we are not going to offer the option.
This means that we are now again looking for a sponsor, but unlike last year the stakes are now higher, the amount of visitors on our site, the demand for HLTV and the increase in spectators the last year has been enormous, e.g. our website alone consumes more than half a Terabyte of bandwidth every month, that is more than 6 Terabytes every year.
One thing is however worth noticing, what we are not willing to do is take a step backwards, we do not want to become smaller, host less HLTVs, less demos, or less features on our site. This leaves us in the situation where a possible new head sponsor would have to make quite an investment in us, and if no one is willing to do so, I am sorry to inform you that HLTV.org will cease to exist after the 1st of March 2006. We are of course again very sad that it had to come to this, and if you think we are starting to sound like a broken record, then trust us when we say that we are very frustrated with how this is going ourselves. We do however still believe firmly in providing free HLTV for everyone, and will do our outmost to keep doing this, because at the end of the day having fun is what it is all about, we have always felt that way, and will till the bitter end.
Anyone interested in sponsoring HLTV.org is welcome to email me at nomad@hltv.org, I will then do my best to provide you with detailed statistics of events, day to day operations, and everything else that may be on your mind.
On a closing note we would like to thank Boomtown for the partnership the last year, we appreciate the push in the right direction, and are sad that we have to go alone from here.

Once again:

‘Cya, I hope..’

Nomad - on the behalf of the HLTV.org crew.
