CSGN Division 1
Hello lads, I excuse for the fact we haven’t seen a premier post yesterday. I’m so busy lately that I’m in a need of time and motivation. I went to the train this morning and it wasn’t driving so I got the time to do the review. Yesterday we saw some exciting matches in the premier division. Caution got the upper hand against MIEN where some players played good but having the chance to win the title i must say the match turned out a bit disappointing. Its hard these days to win vs. guys in a eco

.
Choke who are close at the top of the table also slipped some points versus battery powered. Bp a team that has been struggling to get some points in the bag received 1 yesterday so its all good

. I do hope we can see bp back next season because the team had a bad start but is premiership worthy.
H5 took a default over de always impressive KGB, maybe a uk team instead of these random foreign teams? Atr going strong again with a 16-0 default so nothing special there.
Last but certainly not least we saw img.cs took a good solid victory over synergy who aren’t performing like they did a few weeks back. I don’t know what happened but it must have something the do with the weather.
Ok that's premier for now lets hop on to the first division.
When we have a look at the table we see wink sitting at top with 2 points clear before thk and revolver. On 12 points we see Acm who lost the lan final over POOPsock last weekend but crushed vanguard yesterday. The bottom positions are currently held by vanguard and gotgame who inherited some losses also.
So we can say at top everything is still quite open concerning who wins the title and who promotes also.
CSGN Division 1 - Main Match
[match] time=22:00 flag1=no team1=gOtGame score1=08 flag2=ie team2=wink score2=16 hltv=hltv2.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=csgn [/match]
I was delighted to see sickboy making his way back into the scene. I still miss the flaming part on every news post there is but I will have a look if we can bring that back. Looking at the teams performance it’s not good. Standing at the bottom without having a point worries me because will we see these guys back again next season. I do hope they can sort the ping and get there first points tonight. Wink are the opponents and current table leaders, a team that is doing really good and that is a result of sticking together in good and bad times so there is a hint for you all out there. If I look to this match as I see it now its wink that cannot lose, this also with the importance of the game being so high. However in holland we say. Je weet nooit hoeeen koe een haas vangt. It’s like you never know how a cow catches a bunny and it means some things aint certain. I know both teams so good luck mates.
CSGN Division 1 - Fixtures
[match] time=21:00 flag1=uk team1=thk score1=16 flag2=uk team2=Vanguard score2=02 hltv=hltv1.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=csgn [/match]
Thk as previously mentioned do very well this season. With a 2nd place in hand promotion is still an option. For tonight however I don’t see any big problems for the thk team. vanquard who are bottom and not really having a good season are a bit to light for the thk team this week and especially on the map mill. I hope we can see a good game between two teams that still have everything to play for. Rodeo won ig lan last week and maybe that brings some positive energy to the team.
[match] time=21:00 flag1=uk team1=ethernet.everglide score1=16 flag2=uk team2=revolver score2=06 hltv=hltv2.csgn.co.uk:27016 irc=csgn [/match]
Revolver are still able to compete for that promotion spot, having a comfortable win last week these guys are looking forward to go home with 2 wins out of the last 2 games.
However a rumour goes that the practice level this week was high in the pub but not on the training grounds, but with all the experience these guys got I see them do well.
Ethernet is the new mix team on the block, with some guys leaving a few weeks ago kidd have added some people to the roster like wardie, martyn, and the dracone.
[match] time=21.00 flag1=uk team1=Selected5 score1=09 flag2=uk team2=AcuMeN score2=16 hltv=tbc irc=csgn [/match]
Selected5 are good bunch of lads who just doing there thing. A team consisting of players capable of doing well is having bit motivation problems something you can also see in the latest results. I don’t reckon they have practiced for this week's game but maybe the individual skill can do the work. There playing a team who has more spare time then my granny, I don’t know how these guys do it but being able to play with the same five people a few times in the week is medal worthy and a rare good. All we can expect is some good strats and team play and therefore acm can be classified as the favorites for tonight.
[match] time=21.00 flag1=uk team1=Wonderboys score1=11 flag2=uk team2=Veni Vidi Vici score2=16 hltv=tbc irc=csgn [/match]
Last game of the night we see carbine that are having a disappointing season versus vvv who managed to get some nice wins the last weeks. Carbine lost 4 games in row now, they guys have been around for some time now and always doing pretty good in csgn, I don’t know what the reason for this season is but it must have something to do with the depart of anchorman bigwest. vvv are on a roll last 2 weeks with good wins versus sel5 and gotgame. They are certainly the favorites for tonight because I don’t think carb is able to play at the standard they used too.
CSGN Division 1 - Final Thoughts
Good luck to all the teams playing tonight, May the best teams win!
SGL Corepad Invite & Premier (Week 7 )
I'm sorry for the lackof last week's
SGL, I have been busy with some RL stuff. Anyway, we're now into week seven of the league with tonight seeing the clans in the
Corepad Invite and Premier division competing for table domination. This week's map is de_cpl_strike and - like cpl_fire and cpl_mill before it - represents a challenge for either team, owing this somewhat derisive reverence to its relative obscurity. Strike suffers from this lack of exposure more than either of the previous protagonists, in this rogue's gallery of game environments. But, as has been displayed before; where there is deficit, there is opportunity.

Gaming: A True Sport?
Not that long ago there was a debate on if gaming should be classed as a sport, This debate has now came back over at gotfrag.com where David Light sheds some light into the topic and opens our eyes on the situation. A very well written article by David Light that takes up 3 pages regarding the question. Here is a little tease!
"The age old debate is back, but this time David Light hopes to finally put any indifferences to rest. Can professional gaming be classified as a sport, or are we all fooling ourselves?"
Electronic Sports is the name given to professional gaming. The debate has broken out on forums in response to articles, and even in the homes of many for the short time the classification has existed. So can it be called a sport? Well, not so fast... It is with this piece I hope to open a few eyes on the situation, and come to an ultimate conclusion. Now, I fully realize my position at an eSports News site pretty much solidifies my intentions for many. But in the most unbiased, logical and reasonable way possible I hope to reach an irrefutable solution. I may even be able to refute the biggest argument against eSports - the definition of sport itself. So stick with me, and I promise I'll turn so many heads Linda Blair would vomit in jealousy, should she be reading.
The above statement gives you a little insight of what the article has to offer, A few of you may go "I can't be assed to read all of that" but i assure you it is an excellent read on the topic. Not only does David Light go into dept of the question but he opens up your mind by comparing the two.
