syNergy Prove Us Wrong?
[ukct] member
RoMeRz cooked up this quick interview with
syNergy's Wilson. As always, here's a snippet:
"
If you could play any team this season in either CSGN or SGL who would it be, why and what would you expect the outcome to be?
AlltheRage is the most obvious answer, to play against such a highskilled team and play well against them is a great boost for the clan, we would be going for the win, but mainly I would like for them not to under-estimate us like many people have and Made in England did."
The interview is concerned with their recent perfomance in CSGN and The SGL, but also about the source of contention from some community members regarding the clan, namely their promotion from CSGN's division four to the premier division. What does Wilson think of all this?

Fnatic Get Clubbed & All-Stars Get Fanatic!
Pun-tastic headlines out of the way, some interesting information surfaced today.
After months of planning, preperation and hard work
Fnatic Ltd. - the organisation behind the popular multi-gaming team of the same name - have released information regarding their latest venture,
Club-Fnatic. The club itself has been formed with the intention of creating a community news website. As of yet, no news has been released regarding which games they intend to provide coverage for, but an educated guess would perhaps include Team-Fnatic's 'home games' which consist of: Counter-Strike 1.6, Unreal-Tournament '04, Painkiller and Warcraft 3.
To promote their new development
Fnatic Ltd. have created an event to coincide with the launch of the new website. The aptly titled All-Star event will see four regions of Europe assembling their own teams under the watchful eye of a selected captain. Similar in fashion to the
Clanbase Nation's Cup each region's team will be selected from some of the best players the countries have to offer, Scandinavia, central Europe, western Europe and eastern Europe will each construct their own team from the wealth of talent available. The pool of players come from such respected clans as
NoA,
Four-Kings,
x6tence, and
Asylum. The teams will play for the opportunity to win themselves an Intel Desktop Boards' Dual Core Extreme Edition motherboard.
The coverage for this event will consist of three parts:
HLTV.org will be providing HLTV access for Europe,
GotFrag? will supply the USA with HLTV access and Gamesense statistics for each match, and the
Team Sportscast Network - more commonly known as
TsN will provide shoutcast commentary for the proceedings. At this current time no information regarding the captaincy of the teams - nor the rosters for the teams themselves - has been released. We expect some information to filter out tomorrow at the earliest.
The event is scheduled to 'click-on' Friday 7th of October, sometime during the afternoon. For more information and a press release regarding the event,

CPL ready to use fixed maps

It was announced early yesterday afternoon that the next CPL tournament and future Counter-Strike events at the CPL will use the newly fixed maps corrected by drax.
These include dust2, nuke and train, where all flashbang bugs have been eliminated, seemingly by putting boxes either in between or under the set off points.
This can only be good news to tournament organisers, and especially clans, where teams such as Team AMD Gamer have fallen before, never again will a mistake lead to the dismissal of rounds, or disqualification of a team.
From GotFrag
The CPL has announced that at the upcoming Winter Championships 2005 and Razer CAL Tournament, the matches will be played using the maps corrected by Drax.
These maps are server side maps which correct the flashbang bugs on three popular maps: de_train, de_dust2, and de_nuke. These maps should prevent match disputes due to illegal flashbangs in tournament play.
Now, the best thing about this is (especially for all you lazy people) is that the clients (players) dont have to do
anything. All that is needed, is the fixed map put on the server's FTP and simple instructions followed.

Good day everyone.
Yesterday we had the premiership teams play on de_nuke for their fourth match of the season. Watching the HLTV's I witnessed a selection of superb tactics and team play that led to and some impressive results.
Synergy for instance did what not many thought they could do, they beat
MIEN with some great skill by
razeh,
kalleh and some awping by
immune. Also the first match from the
all the rage team was impressive as hell. At moments the superb aim and in-game mind was splashing on the screen leaving
imagine lost and no clue what to do. If
atr manage to keep that up they will be contenders for the title, although
syNergy is 6 points clear.
Scene vanguards
Choke also won their game which leave them unbeaten so far, with a good top placement they're still in here to compete for the title. I’m heading over to the first division now.
Well first of all I don’t know what is happening lately but the clans are falling off the trees like rotten apples. For start we see
Ethernet leave the league for some reason, last week there were rumors in the scene that there were dodgy things happening in there match versus
end effect. If this in any way contributes to the decision to leave the league is unknown. We also see a new team by the name
revolver. A team that is a mix of
gotgame people and some legends (zell,jr) are sitting in the top of the table, besides that they've always shown they're really capable of playing well on nuke. So its all looking good, baby
.
We also see some names changes in the likes of
fi-team that becomes
vvv again and
isolated who become
czar. Well, it's all real fun but let’s get down to the matches.
Trigger Happy Killerz vs
revolver
First match will probably be the best one also. thk are cruising through the league in comfort with not much resistance, well maybe tonight this going to change. Previously mentioned, the revolver team are playing well on the map de_nuke which they showed in their match vs
Kings of Landed who won the [wcg] qualification. The score was 21-24 so pretty impressive versus the likes of mangicapra, harriman etc. I predict a very close score for this one if both teams play top of their game.
Players to watch: si, mx (thk) - zell, reck (rev)
?? vs
CarbiNe
Well this is going to be a cracking game. Hmm, no opponent yet so I'll just mention again that I like carbine and that total is a big friendly teddy bear
Player to watch: total, idiummu (carb)
endEffect vs
AcuMen
end effect are performing really poorly this season and it's not looking good for tonight either, being almost bottom the confidence must be low and especially on a map as nuke we can't have that, mates. I hope bomber is cheering his team up and no longer being player to watch must have it influence in the game, in a positive way then. Acumen lost last week with a close one, I see them being the favorites for tonight. With all the practice time these guys having they should know how to play it blindfolded so I reckon they will do well.
Player to watch: hektic, gooz (eE) - nitrony (acu)
Selected5 vs
cZar
Well selected5 are as active as the pope's sexlife so that is not good news people, with having lineup problems thaks to other commitments, I forsee it happening that they will have to call the Dutch team. Do that and they lose for sure (no offence of course). I don’t know what happens but I hope the good guys like function, milner will sort it and stay competitive. Czar are a nice bunch of lads with the likes of BA and Awol in the team. This is going to be a match between equal opponents so this could be a close one.
Players to watch: function, will (sel5) - AWOL (czar)
wink vs
Veni Vidi Vici
Wink is a good team, there's no doubt about that and there still in the race for the title, with still a game to be replayed they have all the points out of 2 games. Tonight they going to face the new (?) team of vvv. A team that been around for some time now, but they're changing there team's name more then diddy. Wink will go in this match as the favorites, but as we all know if you just started with a new team confidence, the will to play and positive thinking is high so this could be the source of an upset.
Players to watch: samc (wink) - jons (vvv)
Ok guys hope you like it, im going further with my champagne campaign so catch you later.

SGL Corepad Invite & Prem Fixtures/Results
Another week has begun, celestial rotations start another cycle and satellites continue their majestic procession; the wax and wain of astronomical wonder. In astrology, yesterday's eclipse signifys an end to old trends and the start of beginnings anew. Perhaps, in some esoteric sense, allusions could be drawn to the CS scene. Are we to see the rising of a new star on our cosmic horizon, shall we see evidence of this from our myopic perspective? Before I start sounding too much like Russel Grant, here're tonight's fixtures for the
Suicide Gaming League's Corepad Invite and premier divisions.
Corepad Invite - de_dust2
[match] time=20:00 flag1=uk team1=AcuMen score1=16 flag2=uk team2=syNergy score2=4 hltv=hltv004.games.inet.tele.dk:27076 irc=sucidegaming [/match]

[match] time=20:00 flag1=uk team1=Firesomething score1=RR flag2=uk team2=Choke score2=RR hltv=TBA? irc=sucidegaming [/match]
From
last week's results we can see that
Choke are sitting pretty at the top of the
table, their position isn't quite as secure as you might imagine, however.
Team-Wink are following hotly at their heels with
goldbrick closely behind them.
SyNergy have put in some great performances this week in CSGN and they're looking strong for tonight's match, I'm expecting them to attain their second win tonight. They will, however, need all the rounds they can get if they hope to catch up with table leaders.
Premier - de_dust2
[match] time=22:00 flag1=uk team1=noFeaR score1=RR flag2=uk team2=isolated score2=RR hltv=hltv004.games.inet.tele.dk:27072 irc=sucidegaming [/match]

[match] time=22:00 flag1=uk team1=volitile score1=00 flag2=uk team2=GamingORB score2=16 hltv=hltv004.games.inet.tele.dk:27074 irc=sucidegaming [/match]
**RR indicates games are rescheduled for 20th november 'Catch-Up Week'
Looking at the
table we can see
Fluid Element are topping the lead with a whopping 6 points, 3 points ahead of their nearest rival
oveRated. With a round difference of 11-4 against both the previously mentioned rival and the salutary
noFeaR!, they're going to a tough nut to crack for their opponents tonight,
On Our Own - yes, guys you certainly are, not an enviable position by means.
oveRated might have a slightly easier time than their contextual name-sake
endEffect in their match tonight, a slightly harsh suggestion perhaps, but
eE's recent performance has left something to be desired, the results of which currently see them langishing near the bottom of the table. Hopefully tonight we shall see some shake-ups and surprises.
Good luck to the teams!
