Last night, the new line-up from 3D was meant to be taking on US giants Complexity. Although a year ago, 3D were the clan to back in The States, Complexity are a powerhouse storming through the scene. 3D seemed to die a little bit every time they lost to their rivals, but now was their chance to retake the throne. Now was the chance to show their fans that they had what it took, with Shaguar and Method (their latest signings) set to show the world what they were made of once more. The Cal-I undefeated champions, and the rebelling princes, set to clash in what would surely be a thrilling match. People tuned into TSN, got ready for the HLTV, and joined the tsn, 3D and coL channels, and then..

Int'l News Roundup
With CPL.UK approaching, and all the controversy surrounding the CAL-I 1:1 game of 3D v coL, I thought I ought to fill you lot in about the less hyped occurrences in recent week(s).
To begin with, Korea's famous World eSports Games (WEG) is now debuting it's third season in the next few weeks. The difference between this season (3) and the previous ones is that there are qualifiers in place for the spots to attend.
The following are just the CS locations/availible-spoty/date
1. Europe (Stockholm, Sweden, TBA) - invitation only
( 4 SPOT )
2. South-West America ( Los Angeles , USA . TBA ) - invitation only
( 1 SPOT )
3. North-East America ( Toronto , Canada . TBA ) - invitation only
( 2 SPOT )
4. ASIA Pacific ( Beijing , China . 20th. August ~ 4th. September ) - Regular qualifier (non-invite)
5. Host City ( Seoul. Korea . 20th. August ~ 18th. September ) - Regular qualifier (non-invite)
The European and North-American qualifiers will be invite-only to attend. Whereas noticeably, the Asian ones, aren't.
Secondly and certainly surprisingly, SK-Gaming's Denmark side placed below expectations in the Electronic Sports League of Europe (ESL) for the Danish Pro Division in which there were the opening playoffs on LAN in Copenhagen.
SK.dk saw an early upset from The Entry, formerly well known as Chemistry. However, the setup of the tournament was that of best of three-maps, and SK.dk took the set 2-1 with ease for the latter maps. Just after, SK.dk was fully upset by former teammate KK in losing to Gamelaunch, 0-2 (with OT in the second game). This meant that SK.dk were then shoved somewhat unceremoniously to third place, and saw top seeded team Clan-IT (Incredible Team action) take the cake.
Its interesting to note that SK.dk often struggle to win over it's Danish competitors, but yet triumph when it comes to the largest congregation of teams at ESWC, placing 1st and 2nd the past two years, overcoming the likes of Astralis, Virtus.pro, and Mousesports. Still, their competitors did win fair and square, so fair play to them.
Furthermore, the second MiBR cup went and passed in South America, which catered host to the top squads of the continent to compete for sponsorship that MiBR had taken last year. Unlike most sponsorship setups, the winner of such a LAN cup will take the main abetting and load for the teams.
To cut a long story, and relatively non-surprising story short, MiBR retained their hold on a strong salary and sponsorship from that of nvidia, steelpad and sennheiser. While 2nd and 3rd place finishers do receive a salary, the difference is about 60% and 40% salary for the lower finishing teams, respectively, of what first place gets.
Lastly, some clans in CAL-I were certainly in the massive shadow of the overturn by the CAL-admins, of which the results can be found -here . Moreover, there was some movement in the American scene in terms of high-skilled clans, a shuffle only Russia has seen the likes of in recent news. Check Six squad has undergone large changes in the past few months, with the release of the Canadians who now mostly play for Jax Money Crew, and the pickup of American side zEx as the new roster, attempting to make the organization more competitive in multigaming in the light of steps that coL and United 5 have taken. However, the recent news is what we are after so:
Check six have now acquired recently released player of Team-3D, Charles "cbz" Pyo. This pickup will help strengthen the lineup to compete for third-tier of the high-skilled bracket in the USA, with star Dan Aimetti, inactive. This level teams sees the plethora such as WEW emerging as a higher skilled opponent (though with shakeups, we'll see) and the ever changing u5 roster, which has yet to make excellent use of the stars that it has picked up multiple times now, having acquired both ESWC top-standing TSG and CPL-standard of D!E.
Also, Jax Money Crew have picked up half-wringer player, Eric ''Da Bears'' Stromberg as well as ''Chad Daffsta White''. JMC are confident that this will not adversely affect their game style and track record, but only further improve upon such for them.
Lastly, huge changes on the USA front further still. However though, because gotfrag was able to get interviews, I'll guide you there instead, as it would be a better write up that a third-party shall be able to do with so much movement.
Sorry for length, but that’s eSports for you!
