Well we are literally hundreds of matches into theSGL Summer Cup 2005 and things are starting to come to a head. There have been several early exits for teams that were expected to do better and a few teams who were not expected to still be hanging in there are doing just that. The last sixteen in the upper bracket and the last thirty two in the lower bracket are all still in with a chance to win the cup outright. The map for all these matches is de_train and we look forward to some tactical battles being fought out over the coming days. The ties will be scheduled from this coming Sunday through to Thursday. No ties have been allotted fixtures as yet but they will all be added over the coming 48 hours on the website. We hope to bring you commentary on several of these matches on our #Dustworld provided shoutcast server and our commentary team is currently recruiting. See #SGL.commentary if you believe you have the necessary skills.
Last Sixteen
Ethernet vs Firesomething, Acumen vs Choke,
Ge4orce vs FlameInstinct, Stimulated vs Cortex,
Highfive vs The10th, noFear! Vs TEAMAMERICA,

engine on mute vs g0s.uk, the goodfellas vs rapid,

A promising new radio station will soon be launching in the United Kingdom. E-Sports.Radio, backed by a team of organised and dedicated staff, will go live next Tuesday, August 9th at 7PM GMT. To kick off their launch, they will be conducting an exclusive live audio interview with 'Marc 4K^Mangiacapra Mangiacapra'. In the interview, Marc will be asked various questions regarding his ilustrious career in eSports, 4Kings, the shakey roster problems, his views on the game and the ingridients it needs to expand.
Alongside will be DJ sessions from the most experienced presenters in eSport radio today. Organisers are confident that this station will take over the reigns from the long dead legends at 4K.radio. The days of DJ|Oscar and his hilarious prank calls could well be back on the map with the arrival of e-sports.radio.
The main purpose though for this station is the scheduled shoutcasting for the CyberSports Gaming Network (CSGN, formerly Counter-Strike Gaming Network) in Season 7. CSGN is the biggest and most professional counter-strike organisation in the UK, hosting five divisions, from the Premiership to Division 4. CSGN runs for over ten weeks and will prove hard work for the e-sports.radio, although the first sight of shoutcasting for league matches in the UK can only project an optomistic view for the development of the hard-hit UK scene.
Only time will tell if this new phenomenom really takes off in the UK. That said, on behalf of most of the UK scene, I am extremely looking forward to the CSGN shoutcasting and a breath of fresh air in the UK community.
Regardless of the radios' success, don't forget to listen to the live audio interview with 4K^Mangiacapra on August 9th, 8PM.
You can check out all the information at #e-sports.radio on Quakenet.”

Seemingly off the back of

ZaG's compliments in his
Interview with Sogamed,
SK Gaming have interviewed
Wez from

ctx.
The interview will be of interest to anybody who likes to keep an eye on the

UK scene - here's a snip:
Your newest and most promising team, is cortex (CTX). The 'old' CTX lineup enjoyed a huge amount of success and was with no doubt one of the best teams in the UK. Since the ctx fold and reform with yourself and a few of the other members, how are you feeling about the whole situation, playing under such an infamous tag. Do you think you can out-do the success that the former CTX had?
Well I joined ctx after we had won GGL5 and I personally think that the time after that was when ctx was at its best out of all the other lineups, and not just because I was in! I loved being in ctx at the start because I seemed to get recognized a lot more, and got invited into lots of war invite channels etc which I hadn’t really experienced before and I think we can definitely out-do the success of the old ctx if we actually played
.
Once again SK insist on spreading the interview out over more than a single page unnecessarily, but aside from that it makes for a good read - check it out
here.
