America Hear Him Roar!

Posted by scoShak^ on the 1st of August 2005 at 11:44 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

I was recently asked to conduct an interview with Avi "T3rRoar" Dixit, owner of Terroarized Gaming Syndicate, a CPL and CAL-i American clan.

So how does it feel to be on the brink of what could be the next properly organised team to come out of America?

It feels great. However, it will be a major feat to ever be able to top the un-stoppable, Complexity and the refurbished Team 3D. The guys and I put in a lot of work to reach the goal of becoming one of if not America's best team. However, we want to be recognized more then just a great team, we want to be recognized as a great and powerful organization. Once again, we are no where near that, but we are a few steps in the right direction.

...

It was a good result at this Summer's CPL, even though things probably didn't go quite as planned. U5 are still force to be reckoned with, and being drawn against SK probably didn't help too much. Looking back at it, what's the team's thoughts on how they did?

The team had mixed emotions. They know we could've done a lot better, but it was our first lan tournament under the tgs tag and you can't expect much. Also, none of the members had any previous CAL-Invite expierence so it was a learning expierence for all. Overall, I am pretty happy with their job at CPL and you can expect to see us do a lot better at our next big lan event.

aTTax Releases New Movie

Posted by scoSilver on the 2nd of August 2005 at 5:59 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

The German Counter-Strike team aTTax has announced their new movie "Awoken Eyes" which was released today. The movie features clips from the current five man roster of the clan, and the clips are from several events and tournaments. The movie size is 635 MB and it is about 30 minutes long.

The movie shows great frags and scenes. Although the music could have been better and the effects are no as overwhelming as they could have been, the movie is pretty good and worth watching.

The clan's current rotation is as follow:

de Voodoo
de R4id
de Nitro
de Moon
de Silver

A very well edited movie which could probably take "The best movie of 2005" award from many movie review websites and much more. Post your opinions on the movie! and btw.. 30 Minutes felt like seconds when i was watching this movie Wink .

Download link can be obtained at the bottom of this news post along with the official Alternate aTTax website.

GL + HF , Enjoy the movie Smile

Interviews (2) - ZaG

Posted by ukenuex on the 3rd of August 2005 at 1:06 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Over on the SK Gaming site, they've interviewed former uk TAG / PCG and current uk Alltherage player, ZaG. The interview focuses mostly on what we can expect from his new side over the coming months, and ZaG does a good job at dampening the hype down a touch with a realistic, if somewhat unexciting, point of view. The interview does uncover many of the myths of the TAG / PC Gamer relationship & backing however, making it a very worthy read (even though they've gone through the trouble of spreading it over 3 pages for added inconvenience...).

Here's a taster:

Now obviously you've just come out of inactivity and teamed up with five other top UK stars to create 'All the rage'. What made you come out of hiding and who approached you and offered you the opportunity to peform in such a potentially world class team.

Neither duck, ShaQ or myself wanted to quit playing CS and it got to the point where WoW just couldnt fill that empty void any longer so we decided to do something about it. Myself and duck talked one day and things just seemed to go on from there. AdY and Kardy teamed up with us which was exactly what we wanted and Harriman came as a very big bonus after I had a lengthy talk with him about stuff one night.

As you can gather, nobody approached us about the team, we decided it was time for something and starting a team from scratch seemed the way to go about it.

Most questions are answered very enthusiastically and in-depth - which can be a rarity these days - so check it out here.

Update:

It also seems that [sogamed] have interviewed ZaG - see this interview by clicking here.

This interview is particularly less lengthy, but if this topic interests you then take a look anyway - here's a quick peek...

What do you think about the CS scene in the UK atm? Is it getting any bigger?

It's been on a rollercoaster ride ever since the I-eS/dNC days alot of ups and downs. Most of the players from then aren't playing anymore, and some new talent is coming through, like Wez for instance, which is good. But as for getting bigger, I cant say that it is Smile

So then, perhaps if someone drops from uk atr we may see Wez getting the big call-up over a random Scandinavian? Who knows...
