SGL enforces niceness?

thesgl.com would really value your opinions on the following item taken from our forums. there is also a poll on the front page of
our website.
I am not sure how many of you are familiar with the recent suspensions in the caleague which involved players with arguably the highest profile. The censures were brought about by what I am sure most people reading this would regard the punishment as being severe in the extreme as the offence was nothing out of the ordinary. The question is: should it have to be out of the ordinary?
I do not come into contact with such concentrated levels of bad language and racism anywhere else in either the real world or the internet as I do within the United Kingdom counterstrike community. Of particular concern to me is the speed at which the average debate plummets into abuse, foul language, sexism, homophobia and idiotic racism. On a day to day basis I am sure the majority of people are either sick of it or indifferent after being deluged by this wave of stupidity for so long.
Is it time to try and steer away from this behaviour? What we at thesgl.com propose would be a strict policy of clamping down on this problem. Im sure that has caused a few chuckles amongst you and probably more than a few thoughts along the lines of -lol there will not be anyone left to play in the league if you do that- . Well why not? Is it really too much to ask I wonder. Since we do not believe the community is ready for a zero tolerance style ruling we are centering our policy on a points system. This has yet to be decided; however we would be looking at handing out points like a driving endorsement works. We all swear and we are not looking to stop the general language in IRC for example but when its directed in anger against others it becomes out of order within the constraint of our league. Racism, sexism and homophobia are simply unacceptable to my mind and would carry a hefty points score. Abuse towards others and admins would result in various points being endorsed against a site member. Once a player reaches a (as yet undetermined) number of points they would receive a suspension from the league.
We would not seek to enforce this system beyond our league however and it would be restricted to the league IRC rooms, private messages with thesgl.com staff, website comments and posts and on the game servers themselves. We would not enter into a situation where -tell tales- would be allowed to run amok causing trouble for people. This is a simple case of trying to keep our environment (and therefore yours) free of offensive, uneducated and unacceptable content/comments.
Perhaps you will agree and give us the go ahead to do this. Or perhaps you are happy with the way things are and wish them to stay that way. Either way let us hear what you want.

4K|Mangicapra Interviewed
Meet Your Makers have conducted an interview with the legendary player
Marc Mangicapra of the British team
4Kings. This interview is quite a long one which mainly talks about WEG but all of the 22 questions and answers are well worth reading, especially the one about Marc's leet swedish skills. 4Kings only arrived in Korea yesterday and are hopeing to do better than last seasons preformance where they placed a respectable 2nd place after losing in the finals against
NoA.
Here is a sample of the interview:
Is the WEG one of the events that Four Kings looks more forward to attending? If so - why?
WEG is different from all other events the first season turned out to be a huge success for both WEG and 4K so it was a pretty natural decision to come to season 2. WEG organisers really listened to the player’s feedback and that's why season 2 has been shorted to five weeks rather season 1's original nine. There have also been a lot of other improvements such as the increased prize money, more teams, sound proofing on stage and the practice conditions. In fact the more I think about it the more I realise how much WEG staff do for us. They fix every problem and also live and hang out with the players - so if we need anything they are right here.
You can read the entire interview by clicking on the link at the bottom.

Corazon
New clan corazon (heart in Spanish) have formed! this isn't a clan of random players that've never played together before as the team shows we have all been interlinked for a long time
Lineup
saMM - ex Auk/gOtgame
Xeo - ex fetitude/Auk/gOtgame
MArtyn - ex Auk/gOtgame
reck - ex fetitude/gOtgame
Garamick - ex Auk
So hopefully with us all knowing each other for a very long time, we wont fold anytime soon ^^
if ya feel like showing love and support, #corazon @ quakenet <3
gOtgame bk 2 oldsql
After the recent departure of Xeo, Martyn, SaMM and reck to form Corazon (

), gOtgame were left with the team:
sicKboy
Demun
Aunt (inactive)
AMeN (inactive)
So we have decided to re-recruit a couple of members from the original line up from 2 years ago, minus reck of course and also adding Frankieee as the final member
So this leaves the team looking like this:

sicKboy

Demun

aaNdy (fl.e, endeffect)

mmatt (team-Letters, Barcodes)

Frankieee (foxy!, OverRated)

Aunt (inactive)

AMeN (inactive)

Crappy (SuperSoak)
We have had alot of teams changes recently so getting most of the mates back who started the team 2 years ago should hopefully this time keep us a bit more stable. We hope to keep up our good record in next season of CSGN and other leagues we have entered. The new team will be attending UK/IE LAN Finals in a couple of weeks, so you can see them in action there.
A quick note. GL to CoraZon, theres no bad blood between us and we hope they do well. Cya soon mike <3
