SK.swe not @ CPL

Every CPL in the last 2 years has been dominated by one clan,

SK.swe. Whether its coming 1st or in the top3, these guys have always performed well, and this year was going to be no different. With the recent addition of

Hyper,

SK.swe looked set to win another CPL event.
However, the CPL team have confirmed that

SK will not be attending CPL. The reason being, that the SK organisation want to send their

SK.ger team, and CPL rules state that no clan from the same Organiseation are allowed to attend.
A shock for all to here, so who will be the favourites now? There are still plenty of hot teams going! From the U.S.A we have

3D, u5, zEx, DiE, NoA and GCO (former Rival). From Europe we have

4Kings, Titans, EYE, Begrip, Astralis, Dsky, TAG. There are also the usual south American teams that turn up,

g3x and Mibr for example.
It still looks set to be a great event, with some really big names going. Without the addition of

SK.swe, this is the best chance our british teams have of making it big. Go on boys!
SK.swe have not made an official statement, but the CPL doods have! Read the GOTFRAG POST for all the statements that i couldn't be bothered to include!
CPL Winter Seedings

The
CPL have released their official seedings for the upcoming Extreme Winter Championships, due to kick off this Wednesday 15th. The obvious eyebrow-raiser is the lack of multiple-time champions

SK.swe, with the SK corporation choosing to go with their

German outfit instead as
aforementioned.
Both

Four Kings and

Team AMD Gamer will be flying the Union Jack flag at the event, seeded 11th and 21st respectively - although both would hope to do better than their seeded places, competition will be very tight, with European teams bulking out much of the top seeds.

Unicon events

Hello, another quick post before I am forced to go to work ;-0
The unicon gaming centre in

Manchester is holding several events for our lovely community.
First of all, a 36 hour BYOC will be held, offering the players a chance to win a number of prizes from the informal competitions. It will be held on the 18-19th of December, and costs £25 to enter! Unicon state there will be many different games to compete in. See the list of players going, and to sign up,
HERE.
Secondly, on the same date as the BYOC, there is the official UniCon 5on5 Counter-Strike tourney, boasting a huge prize purse, of £500 for the winners. Not a bad little bit of money, right before xmas!

It costs £20 per person, but is half price for all BYOC goers! Here is a list of all confirmed teams so far:

Last but not least, the much awaited

CSGN season 5 LAN finals are approaching. They too will be held at UniCon, the day after the UniCon 5on5 Tourney, on Sunday (19). All the best teams of CSGN should be attending, so it looks to be a right hottie. This also means that the list of clans attending the 5on5 tourney the day before, should improve

Its invite only, so dont bother with applying.
So how do UniCon have the space for all this? Well I hope you have your dancing shoes on, as it will be held in the nightclub below the UniCon centre! Flashing lights, Large space, Main stage - All these features will help make this one of the best events the UK has seen in 2004.
Best of luck from UKCT, and a personal gl to thk to win money for my xmas prezzies
Interview - GoodFella

Ahead of this week's
CPL Winter Extreme Championships, Chinese
Counter-Strike website
CGA has interviewed

Four Kings'
GoodFella. The interview centres around the teams preperations and
GoodFella's expectations for this week's event. Here's a sample:
CGA:
What does a team most need if they want to win a CPL title? Good players? Or good tactic?
GoodFella:
Both of them... And a good day
4Kings has the players needed but we havent played enough together yet to be consistant. To play and WIN a CPL you need to be on the same level through the whole tournament! If you make 1 early bad match, you got a very hard way to win it...
Overall, the interview is a bit brief but worth the read - find it
here.
