After some very easy wins vs the Colombian and Thai counter-strike teams,

4kings were stopped in their tracks and defeated by the tournament favourites

SK-Gaming. Sadly only the top team in each group could qualify, which means that 4kings are now out of the counter-strike event.
4kings: Akujii - Mangiacapra - S.Harriman - N.Harriman - Duck
SK: Ahl - Fisker - Potti - Heaton - Hyper
map: de_train
score: 14 - 08
Groups A to H have now been played and the confirmed teams to continue into the playoffs are:
The-Titans: Titans won their group with no real problems, with 1 forfeit win and only conceeding 5 rounds to

Play.it.
MiBR: The brazilians walked their group, conceeding 1 round. Deffinetly a team not to rule out of making top 3.
MaVeN: MaVeN had it the easiest of all the teams!!! They didnt even need to play a game. The #1 Korean team qualify via 2 defaults and are yet to still to prove themselves.
Plan-B: Group D had to be replayed, due to the group ending in a tie. Finally Plan-B came out on top as winners.
Astralis: Astralis have been quiet for a while, their last international event was ESWC where they played very well. They walked their group, but I dont think they will do as well as they did at ESWC earlier in the year.
teamquash: The first 2 major upsets of the event, with the turkish representatives teamquash defeating both

EG and

M19. M19 once WCG champions, failed to win any of their matches.
FMJ_Invictus: The malasyian team of FMJ_Invictus had a tough game vs the costa ricans ArenA but managed an easy win vs the hong kong reps. Terminator. Possibly the weakest of all the teams who will qualify, I cant see them advancing past the nxt round.
SK: SK are the favourites, the only teams I can see capable of defeating SK are

Titans and

3D, with ahl having to come in as a last minute sub for Spawn. the teamplay may not be upto scratch, and we could see some mistakes surface vs better teams.
The final groups will be played today, and the playoffs will begin on saturday. I will update the groups tomorrow.

The 2nd day of the WCG Group stages is finally over! tomorrow will see the start of the playoffs.
With Steam releasing CS

ource, I managed to buy myself the silver package and get CS:CZ up and running before the night was over in order to catch some of the hltvs for the last couple of games.
Groups I-P were completed just moments ago, and I can now announce who will be continuing to the next stage with the teams who qualified yesterday.
KGBTeam: The team from Serbia and Montenegro possibly the underdogs in their group came out on top. A replay vs

exotic secured them 1st place due to during with them 1st time round. A good win for KGBTeam, but the portugese teams have never been great, I dont see KGBTeam getting past the next stage.
eXcellence: Group J was possibly the hardest group on paper, with

Pentagram and

mysod competing within it too. eXcellence altho were not phased by it, and conceeded 1 round to mysod and comfortably defeated the polish team. A very poor performance by mysod.
[GBR]Grudg3: The battle of the pacific! ok I wont be cheesy, but Singapoore, Japan and the Phillipines, battlied it out in this group, with the Singapooreans coming out on top. All the matches seemed pretty close, so once again I dont see them getting very far, and probabaly will receive a thrashing in the next stage. Wheres Demo when you need him!?
Team3D: My favourites to win, they have been playing excellently and strolled through their group, bare in mind they did not have the easiest of groups with

TEG and

South Africans, Damagecontrol. I feel 3D could be the only team to defeat SK.
Eclipse: No not the EnemyDown team! but the boys from Latvia have qualified with comfortable wins over slovakia and the United Arab Emirates. I would watch out for this lot, as they are very good, and I feel they could cause a major upset in the playoffs.
Alternate aTTax: The Germans needed to defeat

Goodgame in order to qualify, and vice versa. I sat in awe watching this game, as aTTax completely took goodgame apart limb by limb. Goodgame only managed 3 rounds and aTTax could be a team to watch out for, I can see aTTax coming top 3. They have been playing very well in the German ESL and you could just tell that they mean business after demolishing goodgame on one of their best maps (de_train).
FFTWN: I dont think anyone really knew who would qualify in this group, although it should have been the swiss team

JustPlay if we go by experience. Possibly another underdog team to cause an upset next round, FFTWN who are representing Taiwan, could be the first team from the far east to make it somewhere.
mf_Kz The team from Kahzakstan continue through to the playoffs. With mf_Kz needing to replay their matches vs xDk from hungary and GSC from Ukraine due to a previous 3 way tie, they would need 2 wins. xDk or GSC were favourites for this group and the first time round xDk and GSC played exceptionally well, although with their 2nd chance mf_Kz came through strong, especially vs GSC on dust2. I think this team could do well, depending on who they get, all 5 of the team are very skilled, and the team as a whole have some very interesting tactics and teamplay.
please note:
The playoffs begin tomorrow at 5pm, they will be Single Elimination.

With the group games now over, we move onto the playoffs, this is where it counts, it will be single elimination so no 2nd chances, and theres some very interesting matches. Overall the underdog teams have had a bad draw, and sadly I dont think very many of them will remain to see the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Playoffs:
Titans (Denmark) vs
mF (Kahzakstan)
Titans should win this, but it wont be easy, mF have some great players and very solid play, if Titans underestimate them mF will punish them.
MiBR (Brazil) vs
FF (Taiwan)
A hard draw for FF, MiBR have looked hot as of late, especially with Vesslan coaching them, I dont see FF causing an trouble for MiBR.
MaVeN (Korea) vs
Alternate aTTax (Germany)
With MaVeN qualifying through default, I cant really say much about them. On paper the germans should proceed to the 2nd round with an easy win..
Plan-B (Austria) vs
Eclipse (Latvia)
I see Eclipse winning this, although I doubt it will be easy. Plan-B have not been playing great, and look very sloppy, whereas Eclipse are the complete opposite. I would like to see Eclipse go through and possibly play aTTaX, which would be a great game to watch.
Astralis (Finland) vs
Team3D (USA)
The best game of the 1st round will be this one, Team3D look super hot and unstoppable at the moment, but Astralis are easily one of the best teams in Europe if not the world. Astralis have been quiet since ESWC and a possible lack of preparation could lead to a loss for them.
EG (Canada) vs
[GBR]Grudg3 (Singapoore)
EG came out victors in the replay for their group, EG demanded to replay the game vs Turkey due to some suspicious foul play by the Turkish team where they had someone relaying EG's tactics back to them from the crowd. EG are one of the better teams in North America and GBR shouldnt pose any threat.
FMJ (Malaysia) vs
eXellence (Norway)
FMJ look strong, possibly the stronger of all the asian clans, but I feel eXellence will be way too much for them. The winners of this will proabably meet SK, and xlnz vs SK would be another great game to watch.
SK (Sweden) vs
KGBTeam (Serbia&Montenegro)
Last but not least, the reigning WCG Champions SK, who will be facing the serbs. Although KGB looked very good in the group games, I doubt they will be knocking out SK, its just not possible! SK are the team to beat, and the only teams I can see doing that are 3D, Titans or eXellence.
CSGN Week 2 Predictions

The predictions of today's and tomorrow's
CSGN Premiership and Division 1 games are finally up! As a change to the article, I have decided to combine the two divisions together to form one article. It has also been decided that only one guest (from either division or outside the league itself!) will predict on both divisions. The invited guest this week is none other than
RuLe from CSGN Division 1 clan
Atari.Crew. Here is a snippet of the article:

ForsakeN (1-0-0) vs

lastchance (0-1-0)
After completely destroying my prediction last week with a stunning 26-4 win over suiGeneris, ForsakeN are looking much stronger than expected. Last Chance meanwhile seem to be having troubles as one problem led to another. After losing to syc last week, madSpunK lost his internet, making the possibility of this match even taking place low. Just from last week, however, ForsakeN takes this.
kird's Prediction: ForsakeN > lastchance 16-14

CaseTech.co.uk EDIL Week 4 Day 1 Preview
We're here at the start of a fresh week of matches in the
CaseTech.co.uk EnemyDown Invite League. From glancing at
week four's fixtures we can see there are some interesting matchups and some prospectively good games.
Tuesday: [OG]^ vs tdr -
Even though historically The Demonic Radicals are the stronger team, I feel we may see OG^'s first good performance in league so far. After a series of fairly disheartening results against some skilled clans F` & PLAYED! it'll be interesting to see how they cope with the arguably lesser skilled (than their previous opponents tdr.
Tuesday: CarbiNe vs PLAYED! & 2s2p vs eE -
CarbiNe's first match after their re-entry into EDIL was a disappointing affair, having only four players left them at a serious disadvantage against the strong 2s2p side, we hope CarbiNe will present a full complement of players against PLAYED! on Tuesday and should they be on form, this will be a close match. 2s2p vs eE will be one of my highlights this week, after a huge win over a depleted CarbiNe 2s2p will want to build on this and really go for EDIL. This will be no walk over for them however, eE are a very capable side as they have shown, so 2s2p are going to have to work hard to win this
Monday's Games
8pm
CAution! vs
ForsakeN - Map: de_nuke - HLTV: 83.142.53.130:27020
Both of these teams have yet to be defeated in
EDIL and tonight one of these teams will lose that streak. CAution! are the current leaders on the EDIL rankings with a healthy nine-point lead over the competition, ForsakeN are currently snapping at their heels with seven-points. Unless either team are totally on-fire I can see this being a close game, ForsakeN have had some decent results recently in CSGN and this should translate well into EDIL and CAution are looking none too shabby themselves, but for this game I would say F` are the stronger team and I would tip them for the win.
9pm
syc vs
[SCEE] - Map: de_nuke - HLTV: TBA
This will be an interesting match for sure. syc have been having some great results, their 21-9 win over [eC] last week will be sure to boost their team spirit, something that may take somewhat of a hammering if [SCEE] are on form. Ever unpredictable the veteran side [SCEE] will be something of an unknown quantity and should provide an entertaining experience for the HLTV viewers. I really believe that syc could win tonight but this will only be the likely outcome if [SCEE] don't present their strongest side. If [SCEE] are on form then I would look to them for the win, but don't count out syc, they're getting more confident by the day and may well just suprise us all.
**There are some problems for this game, both teams have CSGN matches so this may have to be re-scheduled. UKCT will endevour to keep you updated.
Good luck to the competing teams!
