CaseTech.co.uk EDIL Week 3 Day 1 Preview

Posted by ukMango^ on the 4th of October 2004 at 1:51 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Leaving behind the controversy of last week the CaseTech.co.uk EnemyDown Invite League starts on somewhat of a fresh slate from here on in, every clan in EDIL with the exception of uk optiCal-Gaming have played at least one match, so this should allow the rankings to level out and the clans at the bottom to catch up. Hopefully there will not be no repeat of the most unfortunate events last week and EDIL and its clans can get on with having some more great games!

Monday's Game

  • 10pm uk Choke vs uk tdr - Map: cpl_mill - HLTV: 83.142.53.130:27020

  • De_cpl_mill and cpl_fire are probably the most underplayed semi-offical maps in UK CS, even in American CS mill has only relatively recently made an impression on the minds of gamers, thanks mainly to CAL and the CPL. Over here in the UK it can be hard to get PCWs to practice the map, sometimes it can seem as if it's dust2 or nothing. But anyway, onto the clans.

Choke and tdr are fairly evenly matched opponents, while Choke do have a greater experience, tdr have the youthfull vigour on their side. The winner of this game tonight will be the clan who have had the most practice, but also the right tactics. Using fakes and complex manouvers will throw an inexperienced opponent in this map and it will be important to make good use if the sewer systems beneath the bombsites as part of their entry tactics as terrorist. It will be interesting to see how both teams handle the map, Choke have a good deal of play time on mill and I feel I would not be doing tdr a disservice by saying that Choke will be the most experienced team.

Good luck to both clans! For a list of this weeks' fixtures and current rankings, click here.

    Pie Kixer Back With Four-Kings

Posted by ukMango^ on the 4th of October 2004 at 5:04 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Today [ukct]'s very own uk Pie has interviewed uk Four-Kings' swe Kixer. This interview mainly covers his recruitment into Four-Kings and the interaction of himself and his teammates in a gameplay environment, there is also some juicy hints at the future of the clan. Here's a snippet:

Four-Kings now have a healthy looking team, with the recent acquirement of yourself and aKuJji the line-up is looking its strongest and most stable for a while now. Four-Kings have been fairly quiet of late, are you preparing to for a comeback and do you think that we'll see a resurgence of the old 4kings form?

We are definately preparing for a comeback, gonna bootcamp and live with each other and play loads. then we'll probably place in the top10 or top5 at every event we are going to. That's at least what im hoping for because nothing else is good enough for me.

    Games Genius 4: Groups

Posted by ukMango^ on the 5th of October 2004 at 1:05 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Tonight the groupings for Games Genius #four Local Area Network tournament were released. GGL 4 will be held on the 31st of October at the Games Genius LAN center in Gravesend, Kent. This looks set to be a good event, past tournaments have been respectably sucessful and the attending teams have enjoyed their time there.

    Group A:
  • eClipse.cs
  • Optical-Gaming
  • theb0g
  • bavura

    Group B:

  • DoR
  • naughty
  • giveWay
  • Landed

There are some good teams in that list and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top, who proves that they're a decent LAN team, who comes home to cries of derision and if bavura be able to maintain their title as current GG champions. While the team applications are closed, there are spectator places available for those that wish to see the action go down in the flesh. FSK will be in attendence with his team uk Landed, so be sure to say hello and stroke his beard for luck.

  • CSGN Division One - Week One

Posted by ukFK on the 5th of October 2004 at 9:52 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Tonight we will see the CSGN Division One teams battle it out for the title of Champions of Division One and also their place at the LAN finals in December! We may see a bit of controversy tonight with teams such as See for yourself being added this season, most notibly known for their performance in the Clanbase UK/IE Cup II. Hopefully we will see some good matches tonight, so head on down to the HLTVs and give one of the games a watch!

Again a few days ago UKCT have done predictions on the division one games for today, check them out here.

    c4u (0-0-0) vs PLAYED! (0-0-0)

Despite being very controversial, one cannot deny that c4u are one of the most talented sides in this country. They come into the league probably placed in a division below their expectations, but yet again as one said Theyre lucky to be in the league at all. If c4u can come through this season without causing controversy, could we see a return to the level of respect some gave them after their SK result? Perhaps but staying on task, they come up against PLAYED! in Week 1 - a team formed recently of TNG! and remOte.uk members. Much as I like them, c4u is far too strong here. trix should be on fire yet again, providing solid fragging performances.

    kirds Prediction: c4u > PLAYED! 18-6

    CaseTech.co.uk EDIL Week 3 Day 2 Preview

Posted by ukMango^ on the 5th of October 2004 at 5:54 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

We're now into week three of the CaseTech.co.uk EnemyDown Invite League and they have some good looking matches for you delectation. The rankings have undergone somewhat of a shuffle after last nights' match between uk Choke and uk tdr, choke played an excellent game against an equally proficent tdr, winning 16-14. Expect a round-up of week three's games towards the end of this week, or the beginning of the next. Anyway, onto the games!

    Tuesday's Games

  • 8pm uk syc vs uk [eC] - Map: cpl_mill - HLTV: 83.142.53.130:27020

  • This Game Has Been Re-Scheduled

  • 9pm ie sG vs uk naughty - Map: cpl_mill - HLTV: 83.142.53.130:27020

  • suiGeneris had a fairly good start to EDIL with a strong win on dust2 against CDT helping push them up the rankings, however in week 2 a close game against endEffect saw them pushed down to 11th place, sG would probably be none to pleased with this and will be wanting to make back the points they lost to eE. Naughty will have to be on top form if they wish to make a good number of rounds against their Irish opponent and while the will may be there, I can't see them pulling off a win against the much more experienced sG side.

  • 9pm uk [oG]^ vs uk F` - Map: cpl_mill - HLTV: 83.142.53.130:27030

  • [oG]^ have yet to win a match in EDIL to far and in all fairness to them, I don't think their first win will be tonight. ForsakeN while being the more battle-hardened team on this map, have been fairly inactive of late, player problems and real-life have gotten in the way of a decent practice schedule. While this may work in favour of [oG]^, helping them gain a few more rounds, I do believe that F` will overcome their opponents and win this match.

Good luck to the competing teams! For a list of this weeks' fixtures and current rankings, click here.
