In what has been a busy week for
CSGN, preparing for the new season, answering queries amongst others, they have made another two significant announcements.
As mentionned before, the CSGN Premiership Invite League will be covered by the
Team Sportscast Network this season. Many of us were exepecting the run of the mill shoutcasting in which we will sync up to relevant HLTVs, transforming CS matches into full blown sporting encounters. But CSGN has today announced that TsN will be doing a "
In The Crosshair" session for CSGN.
Those who follow America's
CAL-Invite will be familiar with iTc. Basically, in true football style, they analyse teams, matches, rosters, rumours and everything else pre-match. They then obviously shoutcast the games for your listening pleasure. After of which they will analyse yet more things for you and basically provide you with the full package. All of this will be done by TsN's UK staff and will be assisted by
TeppuM (formely of
Team AMD Gamer fame) who will provide listeners with outside and inside information!
On top of all this, CSGN has also announced the CSGN LAN Finals Season 5. It will once again be held at
UniCon LAN Centre with prizes yet to be decided. The LAN is
invite only. To qualify, read the following:
Due to take place on Sunday the 19th of December, most schools, colleges, and universities will have broken up that weekend, if not before. Held at Unicon in Manchester (a familiar venue to many of you), many of our gamers will feel right at home. After a very successful CSGN event during the early summer months, many clans suggested that this was the best if not the most smoothly run event they had been to in a long time – so we figured, why move? Unicon provided great support and we were very pleased with the service they provided.
We will be using the same format as last time; two groups of 4 will battle it out to gain the best seeding they can. This will control whom they play in the single elimination rounds afterwards. The beauty of this format is there is minimal movement time, also ensuring all teams have at least four games. Groups will be announced in the lead up to the event, as will more information. Players should book transport taking into consideration they need to be there for 10am. Hotel accomodation details will be released shortly.
That about sums it up! It looks like this could be the best CSGN season yet and you can count on UKCT to bring all the latest news to you in the quickest manner possible.
On a related note, due to overwhelming pressure, I have now extended the
UKCT CSGN Guest Predictions to both the Premiership and Division 1. Expect the first Division 1 issue to be released tonight or tomorrow!

After crumbling down to the calls for the divisions below Premier to be predicted as well by our lovely UKCT readers, I started to work on it immediatly in order to meet the deadline. The results can now be seen as the first issue of the
CSGN Division 1 Predictions can be found by following
this link.
The format will only be slightly different from the Premiership one as we have only one League Guest and no Outside Guest. Here's a tiny snippet for those of you who find the task of clicking the link a bit too tasking.

intrigue (0-0-0) vs

Hertz (0-0-0)
Newly formed Hertz intends to make their mark on the scene as quickly as possible and this will be their first chance. They will be looking to inflict damage on a stable and experienced Intrigue side whose roster has not altered much from previous seasons. Atom is always one to keep an eye on as when he starts hitting his shots, not much can stop him.
kird's Prediction: Hertz > intrigue 15-9
Our guest for Week 1 is
ColdAsIce from the Division 1 clan,
ImaGine.

SpiXel defeated

NoA in a very exciting final, streched across two maps.
SpiXel were sent into the Lower Bracket early on in the tournament after a surprising 16-4 loss vs

Incredible TeamAction. SpiXel bounced back and just seemed to get better and better with every game.
NoA pretty much walked their route to the final, with only Begrip posing a possible threat, but not even they were enough to halt NoA's steady progress. SpiXel needed to defeat NoA twice in the final on inferno and dust2.
SpiXel came out with an easy win on Inferno, NoA never posing much of a threat to them, the swedes CT strats were too strong and great Terrorist teamplay won them the game.
When the game came to Dust2, a map which NoA looked strong on throughout the event, the scores were much closer, Element stood out in the final half in this game, showing us the element we once all remembered in the eolithic days, but this was not enough. With the match going to the final rounds, NoA attempted a major fake, but SpiXel were not fooled.
final scores
de_inferno: 8-16
de_dust2: 13-16
lineups

NoA: ahl, elemeNt, knoxville, method, XeqtR

spiXel: Bullen, crypt, iLight, miniw, walle
With all the attention being aimed at how poor OsloLan was ran, with the tournment running about 10 hours over its proposed ending, we can finally say congratulations to spiXel, who walk away with a 1kg Gold bar!? Dont ask!, apparently the prize was a 1kg gold bar or the cash value of a 1kg gold bar. Not too sure.

wez and

Nitrony officially join the awesome clan that is,

Euthanasia. Also joining the ranks, is ex

thk,

bdw and

fluid.element star,

Lukeh.
So heres the lineup as it stands on this very merry day:

w00kie

toko

Nitrony

wez

Lukeh

monkE

Update
It seems the newly reformed side of

Euthanasia, becomes the new and improved team of

Unicon. The lineup will stay the same, here is the statement:
It was a difficult choice as we received applications from a number of high profile clans, but with a good combination of off-line and on-line acheivements, the new squad's close proximity to the UniCon Centre, and their determination to win, we believe we made the right decision.
We welcome ex-cheers! and ex-euth clan members as the new UniCon.cs team! Both teams have a strong link with the UniCon Centre, having attended many of our tournaments in the past, playing and beating some very established clans in the process - also outperforming the previous UniCon squad on a number of occasions.
Despite being one of the youngest teams in the professional scene, they have shown a great deal of talent and we hope that with this opportunity they can develop into a formidable force in the professional Counter-Strike community
So the new irc to click on is:
#unicon
Best of luck homies! And in true JR style, ;---0

here!

For the UKCT previews and predicitions of the matches previously done a few days ago go
here.
CAution! (0-0-0) vs 2s2p (0-0-0)
With the recent addition of three new members recently, CAution! might still be trying to find their feet. We haven't heard much from 2s2p in recent times but I suspect they have been slowly practicing away from the limelight. CAution! will be keen to show off their new line-up to any doubters and this will be the perfect opportunity. Kristal will be one to watch as CAu sweep to victory here.
kird's Prediction: CAu > 2s2p 17-7
