4K^Grubby 1st place at WC3M June Finals.

Posted by scoOblivion on the 5th of July 2004 at 2:52 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

First round was in full action. Korean players HomeRunBall and Rainbow won their first matches, as did ToD, Shore and nl 4K^Grubby. FaTC got a bye because his opponent Delicato was apparently on vacation, and MadFroG forfeited after he won his first game vs ThePotatoe as he had pressing real life things to attend to. Wizard vs Skyward is currently tied at 1-1.. Skyward lost the first game in a completely won possition but managed to take the second game in a 100 food vs 100 food battle.. the deciding third game is being played now. Some of replays from these matches can be found below

The third game between Wiz and Skyward, as mentionned above, went Wizard's way and he advances to the second round. FatC is the first player to advance to the third round, beating Fury in round two. nl 4K^Grubby is playing another orc mirror as we speak, being up 1-0. In other news, apparently MadFroG decided to forfeit after his first game because he doesn't want to show his new strategy that he is reserving for the upcoming ESWC tournament. Goes to show how tactical WC3 is at the higher levels!

More players are getting into the third round, namely nl 4K^Grubby and ToD, who have to play each-other soon, and Aether and Rainbow, who are playing at this moment. You can listen to this game live on KidA's shoutcast.

Aether and WCB_Rainbow battled it out in the third round, and Aether's UD proved superior and he advances to the quarter finals of the winner's bracket. In the other 3rd round game Zeus vs Miou, Zeus won and advanced. FatC and HomeRunBall are still battling it out in a Human mirror, and nl 4K^Grubby is up 1-0 vs Tod. Nice race spread in this tournament, with all four races still present in the winner's bracket.

I just finished watching Zeus vs Aether, Zeus won 2-0. First game with a Keeper harass and a fast expansion, then mass Chims vs Aboms. Second game was Warden/Panda AoE ownage vs Ghouls/Gargs, coupled with cyclone to take out the heroes. Grubby is currently in his second game vs FaTC, being up 1-0... and he won the second game aswell. Winner bracket final game will be a 4Kings.wc3 clan battle between Zeus vs nl 4K^Grubby. In the loser bracket there are still more people in the running, including Tak3r, ToD and HomeRunBall.

nl 4K^Grubby managed to defeat the fast expansion attempt of his opponent in the next two games and as such nl 4K^Grubby is the winner of the Winner Bracket! His opponent for the grand final is still undecided. Tak3r is playing ToD right now in the loser bracket semi-final, and is up 1-0

In the Loser Bracket semi-finals, Tak3r played ToD and won 2-1. Now the first game of the Loser Bracket finals is being played between Tak3r and Zeus, and the winner will take on nl 4K^Grubby in one or two bo3 matches.

Grand Finals nl 4K^Grubby managed to beat Tak3r in two very entertaining games. Congratulations to nl 4K^Grubby who takes home the $500 prize!

UK Counter-Strike squad uk Hertz have made another comeback (third time lucky I hear you cry?), this time having merged with current [csgn] Division Two leaders uk endEffect. uk Hertz was originally started some moons ago consisting of a couple of top players such as Akujii and Dark0r who have long since moved onto bigger and brighter futures.

You can see the newly reformed uk Hertz at the upcoming [csgn] LAN Finals being held at the UniCon centre in Manchester on 25th of July which will be covered fully on this site.

    Line-up:
  • uk Bomber

  • uk cobbeh

  • uk DiaBz

  • uk Hektic

  • uk N3M

  • uk StrideR

  • uk ubj

  • Best of luck with the merger and for the future, lets hope I wont be posting a Hertz fold thread anytime soon.

Alliance.cs have just announced that they are calling it a day, although the full details of why they have decided to stop are still uncertain. They have played well and managed to become a top UK CS Clan, there channel still stands for now if any one wishes to show them support for what ever they plan to do next #Alliance.cs.

I and all of the UKCT team, wish them all the best with what ever they plan to do next, good luck.
