Is is with Great pleasure that today we announce a new member to the staff. It is reasonably hard keeping up to date with all the happenings in the CS scene. Its been especialy hard recently as

Enuex moved house,

Mat^_^ is on a 6 weeks intensive training course and

pie is a cheap skate and forgot to pay for his net for 3 months resulting in a 2 week sieze of the internet.
So without further ado`, UKCT welcomes
Oblivion to the team. All the best, and we wish you Good luck.
*UPDATE:* We would also like to give a warm welcome to another new member of the UKCT team. His name is
Pauleh; best of luck from all of us here at UKCT.

UKWC is a promising new cup that is about to go live next week. It consists of 16 clans and lasts for 4 weeks. The clans in the Cup are all of high standard, and the list of clans can be found
Here.
As you can see, there are 16 clans competing for the good
prizes, however

bdw have dropped out due to members on holidays, meaning there is a space left! If your clan is interested, please get in touch with Jollx in
#ukwc as soon as possible!
Also, if there is anyone that would like to become an admin, please get in touch with Jollx in the room stated above. The cup, if run well, will certainly be a good thing for the UK; Good luck with the cup from UKCT.
CS: Source shield removal?
Over on the
official Half-Life 2 forums,
Counter-Strike co-creator and current VALVe employee
Cliffe has posed an interesting question in response to a user's feelings regarding the shield in
CS. The post is but a single line and refers to the changes afoot in the new
CS: Source, the new version of
CS that will run on the
HL2 engine.
Cliffe of VALVe:"What would you guys think if we gave the shield the boot?"
The question welcomes responses from any registered user, and as there is no poll regarding it all opinions will have to be stated and reasoned. Overall, the move is a very promising one for much of the
CS scene - although I'm sure many people appreciate the work VALVe have put into developing the shield, it should not be allowed to jeapordise the gameplay - and unfortunately, it is widely regarded that it does. Its removal will no doubt have a positive effect on how
CS: Source plays in the eyes of many, but this will depend on whether
Cliffe gets the appropriate feedback or not - so get posting your views
