Fade To Black

Posted by ukMat on the 1st of June 2004 at 3:33 PM in Team News    0 Comments

Just been informed by Charlie that a new uk UK team has been formed by the name of uk Fade To Black or ftb for short. The team is made up of 7 members, with some coming from clans you have most probably heard of in the past.

uk ftb plan to attend various LAN events in the future including i-series and hopefully UKT, along with entering various online leagues such as CSGN and Clanbase.

UKCT|Mat:
With so many clans forming and folding in such a short period of time, do you think you can overcome this scenario, if so how?

ftb|Charlie:
Yes I believe we can, we r all rl mates and have known each other for a long period of time and we all motivate each other well.

ftb|exact:
exact is extremely sexy. If we ever feel disheartened of un-motivated, he has given us each a picture of himself to re-motivate ourselfs.

Lineup:
  • uk Charlie ex. skins, n0, ultimatum.

  • uk Yumm0r ex. Choke, 2s2p, n0, xtra.uk, skins.

  • uk Dunk ex. urp, skins, n0, ultimatum, crime.

  • uk exact ex. mlc, aliens.

  • uk hz ex. SK Waterboy.

  • uk Jkl ex. mindhack, xtremepower, bdw.

  • uk Mazimba ex. ultimatum, crime, shaken, maf!a.

  • Best of luck to uk Fade To Black in the future from us here at UKCT.

    =WOLF= in sheeps clothing?

Posted by ukMat on the 1st of June 2004 at 9:04 PM in Team News    0 Comments

A new team has been formed named uk =WOLF= which is host to some names most of you will recognise from top UK teams past and present. Currently the team consists of 6 members, mainly ex uk ONE members, since the official announcement that uk ONE went inactive.

The team has already been LAN active with their recent appearance at the ESWC prequalifiers last weekend, where they won beating uk See For Urself! in the final. They have also recently joined the [csgn] Premier division, replacing uk Infinity-eSports, and will be in action again soon at the CPL qualifiers at Landed LAN at the end of the month.

    Lineup:

    uk AdY
    uk Keiju
    uk Kid
    uk KhaoS
    uk kae
    uk trix

Best of luck to uk =WOLF= in the future.

    Azioc Form

Posted by ukpie on the 2nd of June 2004 at 11:17 AM in Team News    0 Comments

Today see`s another clan form and they go by the name of ukAzoic, meaning no trace of life. The clan consists of mainly ex uk Xtreme9 players. So without further `ado, let me introduce you to Azoic:

uk Cerebro ex Kaizen, wanted, cs0, eek
    uk Psy ex eek, Bleeding-edge
uk ZeoX ex dreaM, ctx, Restyled, intelligence
    uk jeNuwiN ex wanted
uk CjhowiE ex DsZ, XistancE, Harmless
    uk Paul (manager)

However, this is not the complete lineup. Azioc plan to announce further plan to announce a 6th at a later date!

I caught up with Azoic|Psy for a few questions:

There have been a lot of clans forming recently, Cosanostra.NET, FTB, Wildstyle to name a few. What seperates you from these guys? What makes you better then them?

Well we haven`t exactly just formed. As a team we`ve been together for over 12 months now, with various name changes for different reasons. The most recent change was merging with xtreme9. After last weekends ESWC and us having to merc (grav found out 2 days before that he couldn`t attend), we decided that we wanted a fresh start, and none of this multi clan stuff that we didn`t really gain anything from. I guess there`s not much to seperate us from these clans or to make us better, although I believe we did pretty well in the UK/IE Cup which these havent.

What are the aims for the future?

The same as any normal clan I guess, do our best online and offline. We might attend CPL Qualifiers at Landed7 and play in the next CB UK/IE Cup

Best of luck to Azioc, you can catch their irc at #azoic.

    Ave it!

Posted by ukpie on the 2nd of June 2004 at 12:26 PM in Team News    0 Comments

The past week has seen the resurgence of UK cs team ukave it! Ave it! were a successful team back in their day, and last week saw their reform, hoping to become a good team and play at high standards like they once did. The new lineup for ave it! consists of:

uk HorizoN ex No.Comply, Sadistic, PinPoint!, KoaLas
uk DArkane ex enamor, qTp, voLatiLe, abr
uk Biles ex Sadistic, PinPoint!, Harmless
uk fLumP ex itz.uk, Team-mercury, abr
    uk Jonje ex PinPoint!, KoaLas
uk etl ex relaxed?, essence, team.mind, abr
    uk JamZ ex 2Jedi

I got hold of clan leader ukHorizoN for a couple of questions to learn more about this team.

Ave it used to be a successful UK clan. Do you feel this team can compare with the old ave it, and carry on that success?

Many of you may remember the existence of the team many years ago with legends such as ObZ and his motley crew, and it wouldn`t be right to make a comparison between the two teams as the game has evolved a lot since then. I do however hope that we can carry the success that the previous ave it! enjoyed and perhaps even build upon it in time. I was worried about using the name since I didn`t know how the old lineup would take the news, but I have since recieved ObZ`s blessing and he wishes us all the best in our campaign, cheers ObZ!

The UK cs scene at the moment can be compared to a tennis ball machine where it just keeps on popping out new balls! So with so many clans popping up, why is this clan different? Why will this clan last?

I`ve played cs now for near enough 5 years, and I have vary rarely not been a CL of whatever team I play in, so I have a lot of leadership experience. I can quite honestly say that in 5 years of cs I have never lead a team of such geniunely nice blokes. We all get on so well and it`s a pleasure to play with them, and I believe it`s this attribute alone that makes for a lasting team.

What are the aims of the clan, and will you be attending any LAN`s in the future?

I`m not going to run before I can walk with this team. I`m going to try and build up a good understanding of each other`s gameplay, so that all goes smoothly ingame and there`s no hesitation or doubt at any point. This always takes time and we shall remain online until such a time as I feel comfortable with taking the team to a serious LAN and making a hard challenge for the title. You will be seeing a lot more of us from now on. Watch this space!

On a personal note, I wish HorizoN the best of luck with this new team. You can find their irc at: #aveit!. UKCT wish you well!

    Interview - NoA|knoxville

Posted by ukenuex on the 2nd of June 2004 at 4:02 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

Headup from LAN-Z has interviewed no knoxville, part of noa NoA as well as no Mordi for the [wcg].

Questions are plentiful, answers a little brief, but overall an informative and interesting piece.

    LAN-Z|Headsup:
''Based on your personal opinion, who do you really think are the top 5 players, and the top 5 teams in the world?``
    NoA|Knoxville:
"Top 5 players is really hard to say. You can think about skill, strats, ingame smartness, teamplay, etc - so you can't really tell who's top 5. And I dont want to start mentioning names either, cus I'd have to go on and on. Top 5 teams, hard too - SK, NoA, EYE, Titans, Mous, Mibr, Adren, 3D, D-Skyline are names that come to mind."
So out of 9 "top teams" mentioned by no Knoxville, there's not a uk UK name to hand. Let's hope our boys prove their worth in the upcoming ESWC and [cpl]...
