Interview - ScreaM

Posted by ukpie on the 1st of June 2004 at 9:01 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

sweScreaM, a superstar through-out the counter-strike world, has been interviewed recently. From the very beginning, ScreaM has been at the top of the scene, playing for top clans such as swe2 easy, sweMatrix and sweTeam9.

He took a small break a while ago, but exploded back onto the scene a week ago with top swe clan swePsychohomo, where he plays along side legends such as sweLog1c and swefilur.

The interview was conducted by Nordic Gamers and covers various topics including his recent move back to counter-strike, counter-strike in general, his former clans and the recent ESWC qualifier.

The usual snippet:

As we can se when we read your clan history, you have done a lot of fun stuff. What clan has had the biggest influence on you as a player and person and why?
All clans have had an influence on me more or less, but Matrix, NiP and 2easy have given me the most and changed me as a person completely. A big thanks to all that I have played with, they deserve it . And especially the Gather team in Dallas, which was very nice and funny, especially Vesslan during the tournament.

It weighs in at a long 41 Questions (including `quick` questions), and ScreaM`s answers are in a lot of detail. To read the interview just click This handy little link. Enjoy!

ESEA Review

Posted by ukpie on the 1st of June 2004 at 10:54 AM in Gaming News    0 Comments

ESEA, E-sports Entertainment Association has reccently been reviewed by Amped Gaming News. ESEA is a scheme enabled to allow players to get lessons from CS-superstars, such as usRambo of 3D, Fr0d of usu5 and bsl from ukTAG.

The lesson was with none other then our very own uk4K^Mangiacapra. A snippet from the review:

Like nuke, Marc happened to play the same spot as me, (inside B bombsite), so he quickly started to show me his placement and why it works. He got very in depth with cornering opponents so you see them before they see you, and in-depth defensive flashbang strategies. We went over these fairly quickly to leave time for the rest of the itinerary.

If you are interested in reading the rest of the review you can head over to this page, and if you are interested in booking your very own lesson, you can head over to the ESEA site.

Lastchance|Jack, CAution! Realf1re and Sector7G|Hellz in the spot light!

Posted by ukpie on the 1st of June 2004 at 1:38 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

I recently had the pleasure of speaking to none other then ukS7G|Hellz, ukLC-|Jack and ukCaution! Realf1re in an interview discussing various topics regarding the UK/IE CUP II.

It follows on from an interview I did with our very own nl[CB]Zorro. A snippet from the interview:

So, lets be honest, what did you really think of the way the cup was run this season? Was it a complete mess or has Zorro set an example that all cups should look up to?

Jack: I think the cup has been a huge improvement on the previous, now with lan finals, more teams competing, and better prizes how can anyone fault zorro?!

Realf1re: Zorro should be organiser of everything. Lans, online tournies everything simple as. Myers just isnt good enuf and putting it simply isnt fair enough. Myers is very byost where Zorro isnt. Full thanks to Zorro and Jamsam for the UK IE cup and i hope you guyz sometime in the future can be organisers of every LAN Event.

Hellz: Well obviously not everything runs as smoothly as im sure Zorro himself wouldve liked, considering the circumstances, the clans that have pulled out the amount of games that have been played I think the cup has been a success, just a shame this is probably as far as we`ll go Tongue

$1 Million Man?

Posted by ukenuex on the 1st of June 2004 at 2:22 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

This Thursday the TsN will be host to an announcement that they claim will be "easily the biggest of it's kind in the history of competitive Counter-Strike." It is related to new multi-gaming clan & community the us compLexity Syndicate, which sponsors noa NoA but also has its own various gaming teams. After the recent no elemeNt fiasco, it would be hard to think of what might really be so amazing as to allow TsN to claim it is "absolutely guaranteed to ROCK the CS community," but a member of the team did let slip a few details on TsN last week, suggesting they will be offering a "$1,000,000 contract" to a player.

The compLexity Syndicate's own site suggests this announcement "will show you exactly how serious" they are and "will make this player the highest paid player in CS history." TsN were a little more dramatic in their announcement, as you can see below.

Team Sportscast Network:
"This coming Thursday night at 8:30 PM est on In The Crosshair. TsN will present EXCLUSIVE news that is absolutely guaranteed to ROCK the counterstrike community and perhaps all of gaming to its foundations.

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS EASILY THE BIGGEST OF IT'S KIND IN THE HISTORY OF COMPETITIVE COUNTERSTRIKE AND WILL FORGE THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME.
    "
After all the false promises and faulted apsirations this year already, such as January's [cxg] event, any cynicism towards this announcement could be easily forgiven. Never-the-less, it is certainly interesting and will no doubt prove a major talking point over the next couple weeks.

You can see the entire article by clicking here. For those that don't know, EST is approximately 6 hours behind BST (British Summer Time). That makes the announcement as 02:30am in the UK.
