WCCS League

Posted by ukMat on the 3rd of January 2004 at 5:31 PM in Gaming News    0 Comments

A new league which has been highlighted on CSNation named The World Cup of Counter-Strike is kicking off a new season shortly and currently taking signups. WCCS run by CS players for CS players boasts some strange differences to the usual standard of most leagues. Some of the noticeable things that stand out include:

-- A round robin schedule with championship matches.
-- Revolutionary anti-cheat for WCCS matches only.
-- League stats (match, weekly, and accumulated season levels).
-- Interactive match predictions with player comments.
-- Online betting.
-- A dispute process that's open to the public for view and comment.
-- Offers both a standard map and custom map brackets
-- NO pistol round. You start with cash!

Those alone sound like it will make for an interesting league. Why not head over to WCCS and check it out for yourself, but hurry if you want to signup as spaces are limited.

United Admins just released a new CD upate which fixes previous problems it had while running along side Steam.

This update fixes problems some users were having with the C-D server detection process. It is another CLIENT ONLY release, which means that server operators can continue to use C-D server version 4.8.0.
